First let me point out that the game is super fun and if I would to summarize it in one sentence that would be: A modern version of Diablo 2.
Some immersion improvement’s I would like to see:
Class “visual” customization
Some class “visual” customization at character creation, e.g. choosing gender, possibility to select hair, tattoos, skin tone etc. Even just a few premade head options would be awesome. Something to make the character feel more personal and unique.
Bigger "zones"
there is a tower in the game where every floor is a separate zone which is just ridiculous since every floor is basically just two zone doors . I understand that it might not be possible to do a connected world like grim dawn or one zone for each act like d2 but some zones are just way to small in my opinion.
Camera zoom
Possibility to zoom out a little. Right now the max zoom out of the camera seems a little to close not giving the sense of scale nor giving enough tactical overview.
Customization such as gender has been discussed before and is not priority due to needing a new set of animation+3D model. Cosmetic-wise, there should be mtx cosmetic in the future.
Agree on the bigger zone (+variety) and zoom out. My current impression is that those 2 designs are intended to mask the corridor-ry map and also to reduce resource hog that is not quite optimized yet.
The only problem some characters have with the current camera perspective is the fact that you simply see less far/worse towards the bottom (south).
This is unfortunately the case in many games.
Personally, I would welcome a more distant or more adjustable camera myself.
→ But it’s also ok the way it is.
And “visuals” are rather secondary I think, it seems more important (to me) that the basic game mechanics “stay awesome” or become even better.
You can already get/do that with 4k or an ultra-wide monitor, I’m pretty sure you an see straight from the council chambers to the end of time with one of those.
A little update on my Bigger “zones” suggestion. Many of the larger zones/areas in chapter 9 (Sands of Majasa) are perfect in size. They are large enough so that the smal “?” arrows on the minimap don’t appear directly forcing you to explore the world instead of rushing in one direction to complete the quest. Well done Dev-team! Hopefully some of the old zones will get some rework in this regards as well.
