Hello everyone,
I would like to share my opinion about the game that was launched recently and the server issues that are affecting it.
I think the game is beautiful and well-made, but I also think that the developers failed to prepare for the launch day, which is a crucial moment for any online game.
The game was hyped by everyone before the release and we all expected that the servers would be flooded with login requests because everyone was eager to try the game. This was obvious to everyone, apparently everyone except the developers, who showed an embarrassing demonstration of incompetence by not anticipating this situation.
Considering that other companies that have developed similar games have all had problems on the launch day, but not as disastrous as this one. (And giving away some gifts does not compensate for this situation because people, as we can see, are not happy anyway and start asking for refunds on the Steam platform)
The only positive thing is that the company is communicative and updates the players on the âprogressâ, but these progress written on paper are not reflecting on the game.
Personally, if I have to wait 4-5 minutes every time to move from one area to another, no matter how good the game is, I get tired and annoyed and in the end my gaming experience is totally ruined.
Now we can speculate on the reasons why the developers are not able to fix these things, one of them is that the company is not investing enough to upgrade the servers, because they expect that after a certain initial period of access, most of the players will leave the game to do something else and then the average user base will settle on an average that can be handled by the current architecture, as it happened during the beta version of the game, where the loading between the zones did not cause problems (although I have to say sometimes with some lag even in the beta version).
Now it doesnât take a genius to understand that this policy is a failing policy, because this initial period is a period in which the game itself represents a means of marketing, people are getting to know the game NOW, and if people NOW are unable to play, they will not be able to understand the potential of the game and therefore they will be inclined to abandon the game.
The company is losing a lot of potential players who could instead join those who stubbornly try to keep playing despite the continuous frustrations.
This is not just my opinion, but it is also supported by some statistics that I found on the internet. For example, according to Gaming Downdetector: https://downdetector.com/gaming/?sf114631988=1, the game has been experiencing server outages and problems almost every day since the launch, with thousands of user reports and complaints. According to Steam Support, the game has received more than 10,000 refund requests in the first week, which is a very high number for a new game.
According to GamesRadar, the game is facing the same issues that many other online games have faced on the launch day, but with a much worse outcome, because the developers did not learn from the mistakes of others and did not prepare enough resources and solutions
I hope that the developers will listen to the feedback of the players and will work hard to fix the server issues as soon as possible, because the game has a lot of potential and it would be a shame to waste it. I also hope that the players will not give up on the game and will give it a chance to improve and show its true value.
