If 1 fireball does 100dmg and 1 does 200dmg and both have 100% ignite chance, will ignite do more damage from fireball wich does more damage? In other words if i scale my fireball to do more damage will ignite also do more damage or damage from spell wich apply ignite doesnt matter?
It wonât. Ignite will be affected by the skill tree modifiers and would do the same damage in both cases.
So if youâre doing ignite, what you want is cast speed and ignite chance, so you can stack more ignites, along with the obvious fire damage, dot, etc. And you want to add all the nodes that will increase it in the fireball tree as well (like the fire penetration node, which will also affect the ignite fire penetration).
thnx
Ignite does 40 damage over 2.5 seconds per stack. It doesnât scale with how much damage the skill it applied does. It scales with
- increased fire damage
- increased elemental damage
- increased damage over time
- increased elemental damage over time
- fire penetration
- with the attribute the skill that applied the ignite scales with, so intelligence in case of fire ball (this is not shown on the character sheet but it works)
- cast speed - the faster you cast fireballs, the more stacks you have, the more damage you do
- ignite chane - if you have 200% ignite chance then one hit will apply 2 stacks, if you have 800% then it will apply 8 stacks
- ignite duration
I believe it also increases with increases in the skillâs tree. So if you take a âFireball deals 100% more damageâ, that will also increase ignite damage applied by Fireball by 100%. As long as the node doesnât specify hit damage or for a different element (non-converted) it should apply to ignite as well.
yes, youâre right, at least the 250% more damage in Smiteâs tree applies to the electrify it applies
