If you have the Forge Menu open and shift+right click a key in your inventory it will be gone.

Yep I just came here to say this, I can’t find them anywhere
I had then happen to me meant to click a different item and noticed the key just vanished so i tested it again it see what was happening; if you
Shift + Right click without forge open it just drops them but with it open it just goes poof.
