I want to try the cold Heartseeker build but I’m still wondering if I should farm Chill affixes because I really don’t know if it will scale up the skill

Chill chance is quite literally just for the chill proc itself regardless of what skill you are using. To scale the cold heartseeker you need cold damage, cold penetration, bow damage, etc.

That seems to be 95% of people playing cold HS; the hit/crit version.
I’m trying to put together a frostbite version but I don’t think Reign of Winter bow is going to be that great overall, even if I slam on attack speed and cold damage over time/inc% cold dmg.
I do love that bow so much so might have to switch to the hit version later.
Just for more understanding, cold damage is a “simple” damage.
Chill it’s scales with Dot that scales with other times of damage over type. Like elemental over time or cold over time.
Chill isn’t a dot, that’s frostbite.
