During the questline that unlocks Aby, you will get one eye (guaranteed drop) for each harbinger. Meaning you’ll get 10 attempts. After that, you’ll have to farm harbingers again, this time with 25% to 75% chance to drop one (depending on corruption).

If you die in the fight, the eye is gone (it’s a key, basically) and you have to spend another one to start another fight, from the start.
