Ice Goliath attack range

I’ve noticed that the rare versions of the Ice Goliaths in the game seem to almost always be able to catch me with at least one attack right from the edge of the screen.

It seems that due to the size of its model, it has a really big aggro radius and always notices me as I approach, and by the time I see maybe a third or to a half of his model, he would be finished with the wind-up and already slamming his arms down for an attack.

That in itself would be fine except these Ice Goliaths hand slams seem to also have a huge attack area, covering maybe 40% of the screen, even. So it is able to hit me with the big attack area of his arm slam even though its whole model isn’t fully in view yet.

While it is technically not “attacking from outside the screen”, it does feel very close to that, as its wind-up starts before it enters view, so by the time it is in view, the attack is already a split second before landing.

I feel that maybe something can be done about this mob, so that it doesn’t feel like he’s always starting his attack from outside the screen?

Sure I can deal with it by looking out for the huge floor rings some of these come with and attack from outside the screen myself, but honestly that feels so lame…it’s one thing to have my attacks targeting mobs on screen that end up spilling outside the screen and kill mobs that way, it’s another thing to be always targeting stuff outside the screen. The former feels powerful, the latter feels lame.
