I was right, Inflation is massive in Legacy following refresh

So I dipped into the game yesterday to see what new stuff would be for sale in the market on legacy. Tons of great stuff! All for 1billion gold or more… If you are not a gold duper good luck chuck.

Considering that the majority of people didn’t return for the event, what you’re seeing is more likely to be because they were already at that price in the cycle. Most likely the vast majority of the people selling it haven’t logged on in a month, so the price isn’t changed from the post-exploit inflation.

It’s not that new stuff is now more expensive, it’s that the stuff from cycle was migrated in an already expensive state.

But those prices will not come down because the people who posted those prices are already billionairs. Even if they come back to the game in legacy and if they do they will buy out the rest of the market stock because its all so cheap compared to what things were in cycle.

Why would you assume they’re billionaires? Anyone that dropped that item post-exploit would simply price it that high because all the other similar ones are at a high price as well. In fact, it’s quite likely that they’re not billionaires since the exploit effectively made lots of MG cycle people quit, so it’s not likely they sold anything much.

Legacy was cheaper because people kept playing and the effects of the exploit go away over time.
The more likely scenario is that if those people come back they’ll simply relist their items so they have an actual chance of selling them.

Also, you do know that the exploit also affected legacy, right? There is no reason whatsoever to assume that cycle players are richer than legacy ones.
Especially when Mike said that the vast majority of the duped gold was removed, it’s actually more likely that legacy players are actually much richer than cycle ones.
