I like weird build in ARPG, the build that when look from shallow sight then it’s trash but when deeply invest time and effort in it then it becomes at least PLAYABLE
.
so the “Conventional” RPG stereotype really make me bore (Mage: Magic , Warrior : Melee)
.
so Do the Devs ever considiered to allow every class to use every type of weapon?
I think the devs view is more about thematics & the classes being specific characters rather than any character being able to do anything (like in PoE). From memory (& this was several years ago), they said they’d be more inclined to add bow-using skills to the Sentinel (archers were a big thing in medieval armies) or Primalust (hunter) rather than the other classes since those would make more thematic sense.
While I get where you come from and I usually build very similar. What you are suggesting doesn’t make any sense right now. Just equipping a bow would do anything if there are no skills or passives to support it.
What you want can already be done though. While the stereotypical archtypes are all there you can virtually play all classes and masteries totally differently. I think LE has some of the best weird hipster build possibilities and you can even make them work very well.
So a Rogue can manually cast (not proc) fireball, VO, Meteor, Ice Barrage, etc? A Mage can fire Detonating Arrow, Multishot, etc? You know the answer just like you know what he’s actually asking for. There are ways to do something similar within LE’s schema (dex stacking, Mourningfrost boots & a proc’d spell), but that’s not the same & nor is it what the OP is asking for.
I know what he is asking for. Unconventional non stereotypical stuff, which LE has plenty of. EG Range Warrior or Melee Mage
Bows are class restricted, but weapon types don’t matter in LE for what builds you can do.
OP was not specifically asking that Class A should be able to use skills from Class B.
So again, whats being ask for LE already does have.
For the most part, yes, there aren’t too many weapon restrictions, but there are some & Rogue has the most by far (skills that require either a bow or DW).
He was asking for something that’s outside LE’s schema, or runs contrary to it since all weapons are just stat sticks & it’s the skills that do stuff, but then the OP may not know/understand that given he asked for bows to be usable by mages.
You’re making assumptions based on what he’s said, filtered through your understanding of how LE works that may not be reasonable given the OP is definitely not a native English speaker. As I said, you can do some things similar or adjacent to what the OP is asking for but not what he’s actually asked for.
