I 've hit empowered Timelines. What's next?

Ok, so I know the ultimate goal is to beat Abberoth and Morditas. I also know you can get more Woven echoes that require at least 100 corruption, which I have done. But, what else is there to do beside trying to get the best gear for your character?

Edit: You guys make it sound like it’s something typical to do and none of interest, while I know it’s the most important thing to do. Can I please get a more insightful answer on what there is to do while trying to reach your ultimate goal, which is to beat the endgame bosses?

I mean…get gear…kill bosses for better gear and thats pretty much what these kind of games are.Gear your character more to do harder content so you can get better gear and do harder content so you can…you get the idea

Nothing. You get good gear, you do the woven echoes which need higher corruption and you beat the bosses.

That’s all.

What do you expect to do in arpg genre? Kill monsters, craft things.

Looking around other skill, build theory craft and try to make it come alive. Fk the build guide and you may find something interest to do.
Its a hack & slash game, what do you expect? Build base and raise pet?

Yeah, right. Thanks a lot. You people suck. I’ll find it on my own…

I really do not understand what you wanted as an answer. You are either new to the genre or completely oblivious to what its purpose is. Thats all you really do in these games. You gear characters up to either defeat very hard bosses or to do harder content just because you can. Get gear for maybe future characters/builds or simply min-max your current characters. Gearing is literally all you kind of do in these games besides their story once/multiple times if you really want to (Or have to. You suck PoE. Lemme skip campaign somehow or make it fast for casual players)

Since there are people diving deep into this game, I expected more insightful answers as to what there is to do in endgame. I’m not a new player, I have plenty of experience with this game, but diving deep into the endgame content is something new for me and I needed a bit of help. I really thank you for your answer, it’s the most kind related to this topic.

As for the topic itself, I 'd like to know:

  • Are dungeons worth it? They are a part of the game and I’d like to engage in that content.
  • When do you push for corruption? I mean, it’s kind of obvious, you do it when you feel strong enough to do so, but on the other hand what if there no shades of orobyss in your echoes? Is it ok to just do mapping without any real progress?
  • What about blessings? Do you need all of them or just the ones that boost your character? Typically, I only do these and ignore the others, because it feels like a waste of time to get them.
  • When do you go for the endgame bosses? I feel this is related to your corruption level, but maybe you can give it a shot regardless?

Other than that, all that stuff you mentioned are well known to me and I try to optimise my characters in the best way I can.

I think your main goal (because it’s the one that’s the slowest but also the one that gives you rewards to shape your gameplay in the form of the weaver tree) is simply to try to finish the woven faction. Get new ranks, finish any woven echoes you haven’t finished yet, buy new ones, etc. With each new point, you get to shape your gameplay further by focusing on things you like/need and blocking stuff you don’t want.

As for your questions:

Dungeons themselves aren’t really worth it. It’s always better to run them with a portal charm and do the boss directly. Mostly because the only dungeon that benefits from running it is the Soulfire Bastion and its rewards are crap. If you want to farm boss items, it’s better to use the weaver tree node that occasionally spawns dungeon packs in your echoes which can drop boss items.

Timeless Sanctum is required to get your legendaries and a huge part of your build growth.

Lightless Arbor can be nice if you have a few extra million gold lying around which you won’t use. It usually pays off if you focus on runes (to get a good supply of Havocs, which are essential for endgame crafting), or maybe uniques if you’re chasing something for your build. Otherwise you have better ways to get exalted and uniques via Nemesis, Rage rituals or CoF.

You never have no shades. They will always show up in your web once you start pushing in a direction. The further from the center, the more corruption they give. However, the most important part of pushing corruption are the gazes, which you get from killing the monolith boss.

So just start running in a straight line away from the center, do the boss once you have enough stability, find a shade further from the center and do it once you have at least 4 or more gazes.

Because the monolith has a corruption catchup mechanic (meaning your lower corruption monoliths can easily get up to your highest one), it’s more effective to push a single monolith up to a corruption you’re comfortable with and then get the rest up to speed.

I’d advise grinding the monolith with the best blessing for you, so you can get the best roll possible for it while pushing corruption.

Also keep in mind that if you overshoot corruption and find yourself dying a lot, you can simply push it back again. There’s a node right at the center that will let you reduce corruption.

It’s always up to you, but there are usually only 5-7 blessings that actually benefit your build. The rest are just a small boost to farming. I tend to just do them all once and pick the one I think will be better for the build, but I do play legacy which means I can just respec the blessing to the one I want.

You should only focus on grinding them at 300c+ (or maybe 200c+? Can’t remember which one now) because that’s when you’ll get 5 choices per boss.

Both for blessings farm and corruption farm, you can use temporal keystones (in the stability bar you’ll have a + button on the right and the count of how many you have) to quickly raise stability and fight a boss. These drop quite often and you can spam them sometimes.

For corruption using harbinger needles also speeds things up.

That will depend a lot on your build. Some builds do bosses better than others and thus can do them sooner. Other builds can’t even do the uber bosses properly without having lots of personal skill.

As a general rule, you can do regular Aby at around 300c (minimum to unlock him anyway) with a good build and around 400-500c with a worse one. Almost all builds will be able to farm Aby.

Uby (Uber Aby) is usually around 1k-1.2k, but not all builds can do him properly.

Omen and Morditas ubers are somewhere in the middle.

Basically, take the minimum requirement for them and add about 0c for a broken build, 200c for a decent build, 400c for a bad build (or more, as I said not all will be able to kill ubers).

Once you’re comfortable killing bosses at those corruption levels, you can try the ubers.

EDIT: One point regarding corruption and shades. If you have enough gazes (8, I think?) when you do a regular echo it will spawn a special shade next to it. That means that, if you have enough keystones and needles you can simply use keystones to get stability for the boss, run him with the needle (spawning the harbinger as well, so you can get another needle), run a regular echo and spawn a shade, which should give you about 40-50 corruption.

It’s the fastest way to push corruption currently.

Also another point which seems to have become forgotten: after unlocking empowered monos, your first objective is simply getting all the harbingers, so you unlock regular Aby. The fastest way to do this is getting one timeline to about 320c, so you can immediately get the rest of them to around 300c and do all harbingers, otherwise you’ll have to slowly raise corruption on each of them, which is annoying.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. It’s been so insightful and I appreciate it. Such detail; I was totally clueless about all that stuff.

I agree great answer. I dont like end games much not just in this game. I like to make alts & go through the campaign. I know Im wierd that way. I get to end game & do a few monos & get bored. I was planning on trying harder this season to try to get somewhere in end game. Tx for telling us the goals. Might make it easier for me to keep going.

Every single arpg endgame boils down to:

  1. Get better gear
  2. Do harder content in order to do #1 moar harder/fasterer.

Julra is if you have a legendary you want to make, certainly.

Pretty much. If you can do a particular corruption easily/quickly you can increase the corruption & hopefully do that as fast/easily.

You go further out in one direction & eventually you’ll find a shade.

Definitely the ones that give you a stat boost. The ones that give you drop rate increases are up to you.

Pretty much.

Sure. It’s not like you loose xp or anything. Maybe harbinger eyes.

An important note about corruption is that it has diminishing returns after 600c (maybe 500c?). Usually you want to be around 600-800c to farm, but higher corruptions aren’t worth it unless your build can still do them fast.

That is, if you’re doing echoes in 5 minutes at 600c and you find yourself taking 10 minutes at 800c, it’s better to go back to 600c.

More is always better, but the bonuses are so small after a certain point that it’s only worth it if you can maintain your clear speed.

I 've been in the same direction as you. For me, this expansion feels like an opportunity to push it further. So much great stuff in the game. I only wish the dungeons would be worth it.

The grind…

Either min max, start over with new build, or find new game till next season.

Is it that hard to just ask all of this in the first post?
You should just say hey guy i don’t know how to make progression in the game, what should i do what should i don’t…
why make it sound like other post about “there is nothing to do for end game, lacking content compare to this and that game - poe or any else in genre” and start wondering why people being a dick?

Well, I thought it was obvious that there was more to that. I wouldn’t just ask for no reason, right?

Nope, plainly spoken… nope.

Whatever guys. I asked afterwards. Answers were given, issue was solved.
