I understood why Hungering Souls is a very weak spell, as are normal Skeletons Mages

I just realized that Hungering Souls is a really weak spell.

The reason is that an enemy can only be targeted, or possessed, by a single hungerin soul.

As a result, this spell is very weak against unique enemies.

I am fighting right now two small Beattles, and my army of 4 mages are unable to kill them for 2 minutes.

Another corollary is that making skeletons mages is also very weak. They are only “effective” when there are multiple enemies in front.

The others mage skeletons sub-types are much more powerful.

And you, did you know?

Yup, I’d previously requested that all of the hungering souls that visually pass through a mob hit it for damage and procs. That said, if it’s intended to be an aoe spell it probably shouldn’t be good at single target as well.

Looks like a very good idea.

it accounts for well over half my dps in my death seal build - I am using the single target spec though.
