There are a number of builds that rely on lowering their health, but these builds suffer in multiplayer because the paladin uses a healing spell to save himself from death, thus healing you. It would be nice if passives for the classes that use these strats most often had a passive node to stop the heal from working(even if acolyte is the only one with this passive node).
the closest things we have that can actually be ran with exsanguinous is Xithara’s conundrum which only prevents leech and regen. There is literally no way to prevent healing effects from ruining your ward generation
