The item search box doesn’t accept enough text to put in a full idol name, so I can’t search in my stash for a specific affix combination. Please remove or increase the search text limit, or, match on each word separately instead of the complete and exact text string (i.e. “vigor life” should match against “vigorous stout lagonian idol of life”)

All idol affixes are considered Tier 1. There’s no way to filter on roll quality. Please allow us to specify affix value ranges in the loot filter, or to check a box for “best roll” or “top 25% roll”.
You don’t need to search for the affix name, you can search for the effect (health), though that does sometimes bring up comparable effects (such as resists because they increase your EHP).
Not so long ago, I was on the same page here, wanting to fitler FP, LP and roll ranges.
Mike_Weicker, one of EHG’s Senior developers did make a very good argument though, which I totally agree with.
The Loot Filter is meant meant to make decisiosn for you.
It’s only meant to reduce loot to a manageable amount.
There are already some options in the loot filter, to make the loot filter extremely strict, which is kinda making decisions for you in a lot cases, but we do definitely not need to be able to filter for too many things.
Seeing loot drop, search through it and get excited, when you find some crazy good stuff is and should be part of the experience.
Searching through your stash with more advanced options however is something that makes total sense, because it’s loot you already “worked for” and decided to pick up.
I would argue that, in the particular case of idols, it is not serving that purpose. I’m literally spending more time figuring out which idols to junk and which to stash than it took me to run the content that dropped those idols. It’s not fun.
I agree that it’s important to have that thrill of discovery when you notice that a piece of loot is actually MUCH MUCH better than the minimum needed to pass your junk filter. But for idols, there is no junk filter unless you want to discard certain affixes altogether.
We need to be able to filter out the truly awful drops automatically, so that we can enjoy the experience of separating out the good drops from the great ones. The loot filter is doing that, for everything but idols.
Meh my biggest issue with the Idol system is the amount of junk/useless items it creates.
No one is going to need a idol with a affix for using bows, and then another affix for using daggers. or one affix for melee damage and another for bow damage.
The idea that the idol system creates junk items that no one will want to use, or need to use, is a bad design move imo. just makes idol hunting succcccccccck, I wish there was a glyph of chaos type thing for idols or that we could collect idol affixes and apply them to idols rather than this weird janky system it currently is.
I hate the board too, the weird shape and the way idols don’t like up properly, or how only some idol affixes are available on certain sized ones.
Their comment was a giant red flag for me
um I think you mean “the loot filter isnt meant to make the decision for you” umm yes it is, thats why it exists, the sole reason it exists is to FILTER out things you dont want to see - the ‘FILTER’ told me you may want to look at this item as it met some of your requirements
Nobody uses a water jug with a filtration system and that system proclaims “will filter…some of the impurites…not all you gotta do that yourself” no one will use it and it would be a joke basically
And don’t forget the incredibly high bias towards low rolls, or I am crazy?. I only got one perfect 5% increased/30 HP medium idol, I was amazed that was even possible to roll, I felt like winning lottery two times in a row ^^
