The end game inventory management system is not fun. Hoarding Exalts to slam into LP Uniques is not enjoyable. The RNG of not getting what you want in slamming reminds me of Masterworking in D4.
I don’t mind low drop rates, grinding great items, but the RNG should mostly come from drops, considering the LP system being BIS, it disrupts and makes the end game play loop terrible.
There are so many great aspects to LE, as well as POE1 & the unfinished POE2, and maybe a couple in D4, but the one thing they all fail at, is great itemization. I know some will think this is some nostalgic D2 itemization call out, but I think all the new games are trying to do too much with loot, less is more. No need to over complicate things.
The activities, gameplay, progression systems, skill trees, etc. in the new ARPG’s are 10x better than D2, but the loot and end game loot system doesn’t give me the same dopamine. First developer to figure out great loot itemization will own a majority of the market share.
This was removed this season. Now, if you do at least T2 sanctum, you can guarantee an affix to transfer. Which means you’ll always hit your exalted affix now.
That will depend on the player. Many players like LE’s loot system. For example, Ziz, which is a widely known PoE Andy, has said that LE’s loot system and progression is much better than PoE’s.
On the other hand, Kulze is an LE fan (and PoE as well) and said the opposite.
Also, a minor correction:
It’s not. More often you’re better off with a good exalted than a slammed unique that does nothing for your build. A good base implicit will beat a unique slam most of the time.
This is even more true this season with champion affixes and set shards.
Sure, but at least now you know that you will definitely hit the most important affix. And you have 33% of getting the 2nd best.
Or if it’s a 3LP, you know you get the exalted affix, and you have a 66% chance to get the 2nd affix you want.
Almost always, the exalted affix is the really important one. The others are secondary are less important overall (which is why you’re not slamming them at T7). Most of the bad feeling of slamming came when you slammed something and missed the exalted affix.
Is it? I don’t think so. You can do this with 1LP uniques, I think. You do have to run T2 Julra or higher, though. Aren’t you confusing things?
The patch notes (and dev talks) only mentioned T2 dungeon requirement, not LP requirement.
As long as you do Tier 2 Julra it’s a guaranteed slam with 1 LP. So not quite.
That’s a very good - but odd - addition. It should be progressively harder to pick the affixes up to 3LP in a deterministic way through some means, then it would work fantastic. Rolling a great base item is the major limitation after all already, as well as acquisition of the LP item itself, the roll-RNG is a step too much there.
Nope, it doesn’t.
You need to run Tier 2 though and not Tier 1, Tier 1 has no affix chice.
Yeah, tried it once but since you guys insisted it worked even with 1LP I just tried again and it does indeed. Don’t know why it didn’t give me the option the other time, probably just a glitch.
