So, i’ll be honest. I have a learning disability and sometimes I overthink on a lot of things especially with gaming. I try to follow builds but when it seems slow I get bored and annoyed I keep wasting gold on respecing and now I have no gold on my level 30 paladin, thinking of starting over. I enjoy the game I really do. I just suck at following mechanics and builds. I wish they had a copy and paste build system like WoW has. I wanna get better at this game and it’s my main game to play. I’m just kinda annoyed at myself. That’s all… Sorry if I post a lot on here lol.

I personally never use builds. I find with LE, you can make powerful characters quite easily on your own. Just use common sense to decide what kind of affixes to look for. And it’s also helpful to use a website like LE Tools or LE info to look at the unique items in the game and find ones that would fit your build, which you can then target farm or buy in the market.
Also, being broke at lv30 is no big deal. You are still really early in the game, and you don’t find a lot of gold at this point. You don’t need to worry about your passive tree at this point in the game anyways. Most of your power rn comes from your gear, followed by skill passives.
I say you should keep trying with your character. You can easily change anything you mess up when you reach late game.

Hey there!
Have you tried making your own builds without following any guides? If not, it could be a good suggestion for you to try and do that. Just pick some skills you like, read all their nodes and try to make them synergize together.
You’ll mainly be looking for:
- a skill to be you right click button, meaning you’ll be spamming it, so it should be a low-cost, low cooldown skill.
- a movement skill for you to go faster through the maps and/or avoid big damage spells from enemies.
- the rest will be mostly skills to help those other two to their jobs even better, or skills with larger cooldowns that will boost your character offensive or defensive stats according to the build as a whole.
Last Epoch is really one of the easiest games for you to do that. Specially comparing it to an MMO like WoW, that is all about the meta.
Here you can do almost anything work decent enough to at least reach empowered monos. Just need to understand what each node on the tree does, since they’re all mostly really intuitive.

Like anything there are meta/cookie cutter builds. You can really can make a pretty powerful one on your own though and run it without much worry I find.
True, I just overthink on builds and i’m still leveling. I do that in every single game I play. I gotta learn how to stop making things more complicated than they need to be.

Yeah, for sure. It’s good you recognize that. I’d wait till you reach monoliths, and then if you feel like looking up builds, then go ahead.
