I’m constantly fighting the game’s UI because of this auto-selecting nonsense that has persisted from the start. And now I just did Lagon, a fight that drops all of the loot 4 seconds AFTER the portal to leave opens up, and if your cursor goes anywhere near that portal, you lose it all. The last 2 boss fights for this gods quest dropped nothing, so I just assumed this was also the case. It only dropped all the stuff right as I was getting nearby to the portal, so I had just enough time to see all the stuff that was just robbed from me.
Boss rewards in this game in general have been very poor. Spending a bunch of time and effort beating a boss to get 1 rare item makes me want to stop playing, as I feel like the game isn’t abiding by the risk/reward system that all these games do. Then there’s the boss fights that drop nothing at all. I shouldn’t get better loot from the first magic level regular enemy I fight after a boss that took 5 mins to beat, but that’s happened twice now.
But anyway, we’re playing the game to fight monsters, not fight the UI. Any time you force a player to constantly have to bother dealing with poor controls, you take a huge part of the game away. It’s like trying to eat soup with a fork. It might be the best soup you’ve ever had in your life, but it doesn’t matter because you’re just frustrated having to try to eat the soup with a fork.
