I hate the internet and its inhabitants. It reminds me that reading and comprehension is not a basic skill.
This clearly shows that you do not have a sense of character power and progression yet and your experience is heavily skewed because you apparently played a variation of the build that breezed through the content? (I assume you played the version of ES that is super meta?)
If you play a âregular buildâ even when defeating all 10 Harbingers and reaching 300 corruption you are barely even ready to face Aberroth, especially when this is your first time doing it. On most other builds you need even more endgame farming beyond just reaching 300c to defeat Aberroth, you need more level and way better gear.
I agree that he entrance fight can be a bit of a hassle, especially when chain farming him.
But I am not reinforcing your argument
To get a better sense of what power we are talking about sharing your character might help as well. Even when you did not copy anything there are half a dozen ways to build a ES VK.
If somebody plays a âworseâ build and takes longer that doesnât make your argument stronger tough. Quite the opposite even, depending on what one individual might want or expects from a game.
Some people donât want to be done too fast and enjoy bringing their character through all the stages of progression and needing a couple of days/weeks before even facing the pinnacle boss.
I just had the weirdest bug when fighting Aberroth - my character died, but when I hit âRespawnâ⌠It appeared back at the arena, with Aberroth still there as if nothing had happened. I died a few times more, and the same thing kept happening, as if I had infinite lives to kill Aberroth with.
It was cool for learning about the fight, but it was a very weird bug.
I would like better over shorter. LE is to repetetive for my taste and I canât swap to do something different like in PoE1 if I feel like delving instead of mapping ob running down labs for the lulz.
LE is just grinding Monos again and again always on the same map layouts, always the same few enemys. Always the same stuff you need to look out for while fighting falling asleep. To be honest Iâm overfed on LE for a long time and the game needs to become much better to win me back if I donât have to kill some boredom at season release.
Heck I would even play D3 now then LE and when PoE2 and LE seasons hit there is a HS season starting again and I will drop both games for HS because for whatever reason HS gives me more fun then both other games combined while itâs the biggest construction site of them all with the most flaws.
I just stop playing games when they arenât fun anymore but I guess Iâll revisit LE a later time when there is new content to write home about.
ill just say, this comes up all the time, but uhhh⌠imma be real, this is the case in EVERY single arpg.
PoE, Grim dawn, TL:I or LE, you will be chain farming the same content on repeat in end game. Thats how it worksâŚ
is LE a little light? sure, but certainly not outside of the ARPG space. like bro people did chain boss farming in d2 and loved it.
30 bosses and counting. Them sharing movesets would bother me as much as them sharing visual skins seems to bother you. Thankfully that isnât the case for the most part.
Give it some time. There will be incremental additions until the game has so many unique encounters it will take half a cycle to complete everything.
I believe changing the focus to finding ways to improve it would be more beneficial to overly criticizing the foundation of boss fights in a growing gameâŚ
The entire game focuses on the player preparing for encounters or being punished by having to repeat them. That includes having the resources to initiate the boss fights where applicable. Having extra lives for regular Aberroth is just promoting an environment that disregards the purpose of optimizing a build. Instead of losing experience, players are often punished by losing out on rewards.
I agree that sitting through the preliminary fight before basic Aberroth is annoying. It was so annoying that I pushed my builds to be able to fight Uber so that when I chain farmed him (as you do in every single ARPG ever made) I didnât have to waste the time. Itâs busy work, and I can see value in removing it totally after the first encounter. As for the resource to start the fight, itâs a familiar part of games in general. ARPGs gate good items behind boss keys. Nihilis alone is arguably one of the strongest items in Last Epoch. Itâs value is intrinsic and simultaneously increased by being content locked in what used to be the pinnacle of content.
The devs have consistently listened to player feedback to deliver all of the systems we have so far. Most of those systems are designed to help the player make incredible builds. The game allows for us to play a single build mindlessly until it is so optimized it trivializes content, though it promotes the opportunity to farm as many ideas as one can think of and as rapidly as reasonably possible, optimize them (if possible*) for completing the content available.
*Balancing the classes to perform at the same level with similar investments is a topic for a dedicated thread, but you really did luck out pick ES in this meta. Had you homebrewed a less versatile build you may have quit before empowered monoliths.
The identity I perceive the gameâs design focus to have is what I have fallen in love with. Last Epoch has some of the richest build diversity ever found, and it is only improving. Three thousand hours later, I am constantly surprised with experimentation. Crafting is absolutely chefâs kiss. People complain about every type of resistance they find while progressing, but as the game improves, for nearly every argument made, there is a solution provided. So with your statement, I half agree.
Absolutely building is fun. Nothing new, fun or interesting to do? You just got here. Compared to release there is arguably ten times the amount of content and QoL changes to the foundation for the playerâs benefit. So I have to ask, are you playing for 8+ hours a day, every single day? if someone has no other obligations in life aside from playing a game, the game is rarely going to hold up to that level of scrutiny. Did you beat Uber? Did you push your build to maximum possible? ARPGâs can have incredible boss fights, but there are entire genreâs of games that focus on the content youâve outlined. ARPGs focus on build craft first and foremost. The content designed to allow players access to materials and gear should be vibrant and diverse, but it takes time. In less than a month you will have even more to explore. A few months from that, even more. I challenge you to examine your time in the game, and empathize with the rest of the player base. Not to change your opinion, but recognize the potential for bias. What exactly is the basis for your interpretation to begin with? Are you comparing your experience here with another?
Woah dude. You think it was my intention to call you âbiased and joblessâ while admitting I have 3k hours in the game?
You read the tone of my response in way that was infinitely more hostile than my intentions. As if I were so disconnected I provided the exact ammunition for you to insult me out of stupidity. Take a step back and reread it from a place of genuine interest.
Why would having a bias be personal? Itâs completely natural to develop expectations from experiences. If you had instead taken the time to answer any of the direct questions instead of
This could have been what people call a âconversationâ.
Iâm sorry for hurting your feelings. I have been playing since the game launched, and I only play this one game because I am autistic, and into ARPGâs like some people are into trains.
So forgive me if the way I communicate doesnât appeal to your delicate sensibilities, but yeah, you sat in the chair wrong, and complained about the service when you didnât read the menu. Your ideas made me think you played D4 and PoE. They arenât original, and you could do with learning how to use the features in the game better. Make it personal. Okay, there. Made it personal. I didnât even have to call you stupid.
The there will be content right around the corner bit was something you glossed over to instead insult me. Cool you made a graph to show some intangible increase that will occur if they what, take your ideas and apply it?
Whereâs your game? Iâd play it. You just stumbled in the number one played meta build randomly, and itâs best in slot were obvious. Youâre obviously a genius!
It must suck to make games in the modern age. People who play them all think they have the magic formula. They love typing in all caps as they assert their intelligence. You CLEARLY have it all figured it. Cannot wait for a dev to read every time you insulted their hard work a month before they rolled out the next new experience. That way theyâll know youâre the one with the answers. Even have a graph to show how reductive you can make the important stuff. Youâre a master at communicating your opinions and winning people in argument. I mean, Iâm a fan.
Oh no. Put it back.
Yeah, I came here to apologize for reacting the way I did in the heat of the moment. Having you insult me because you interpreted my original tone to be hostile was frustrating. Having you tell me I donât belong on the forums because of my neurodivergent perception is beyond messed up. You have to consider other peopleâs perceptions of what you say as much as I do.
I took the time to reflect and reread what you said with a different mindset. I had found value in what you originally posted that I had missed before. That was on me. Weâre different people, and itâs okay to disagree. Whatâs not cool for either of us to decide to go for the throat because of those disagreements.
Good luck with your post.
You shouldnât need to apologize to this spoiled personâŚ
If they were any real, they wouldnât have deleted all their posts and tried to insult us all with this new thread title.
I have never understood why people ârage quitâ & delete their posts (this isnât the first or the âworstâ) example).
Since this went âsomwhereâ but not in any direction it should go here a ending post from me:
Consider what you did rather then what others did. You can only steer your own actions, not those of others.
So, a lot of the results youâll get is by how you present yourself.
Thatâs all, more likely to be good for someone to read it simply stumbling upon this thread and wondering wth is going on here but still worthwhile to put out I think.
Isnât there only one valid question left in this thread? Like⌠why isnât it closed yet?
What is this trend of people on the internet so thin-skinned that every time they lose an argument they try to wipe all evidence of it?
