Hybrid Sorcerer

Hi there! I’m trying to build a sorcerer which deals elemental damage of all 3 types, since I saw there are many items shich help scale the 3 of them at the same time, and I wanna have varied skills with varied damage types. If impossible, I’d like to focus on fire and lighting and only using ice for utilituy if used at all.

Having said that, what are your recomendations? And do you know if a skill which scales with both, such as Desintegrate, only takes the highest one of the two or its stacks with one another (types of damage scaling.

I did once played a Meteor Build using Lightning Blast for singletarget support. And for utility/defense Cold Snap.

That does work fairly ok. And are more skills that you could use, like Volcanic Orb for Aoe instead of Meteor.

The damage is split 50/50 for skills with multiple damage types.

So when you add 80 spell damage to Disintegrate that has not been converted into a single element both elements will get 40 flat damage.

If you have %Inc fire damage only the fire portion of the skill will get increased.

%Inc. Elemental damage would increase both.

If you add flat damage of a specific type, it doesn’t matter what damage the skill is doing, so you could even add flat cold damage to Disintegrate to make it deal all 3 types of damage.

Wow, thanks, would you say desintegrate is a better main ability than lighting blast? bc it just deals way more damage, even upgraded, however it spends more mana, but im sure there as some nodes to mitigate it. Im currently specializing lighting blast but desintegrate just looks more attractive for th type of build im trying to make.

Maybe you can build around elemental nova? It deals all 3 as a base skill. So if you don’t convert any, you’ll always have the 3 damage types.

Yeah, I was thinkinbg about it, but I have to raise my minimum level to 8 so that I can cast it at a distance from the get-go. Its also lets me prock all elemental effects at the same time

There’s also a helm that allows you to cast EN at distance. There’s another helm that ALWAYS makes EN Tri-Elemental.

Overall Disintegrate is worse than Lightning Blast (and any other spammable spell)

Channeled abilities have a huge disadvantage and they really can only suceed up unti la certain point.

Having the ability to stutter step and properly kite and dodge telegraphs without giving up too much damage is a huge advantage.

I personally love Disintegrate and had a lot of success with it, but objectively speaking it is worse than any other regular spammable spell.

Sorceror in general is weak. Your skills have little to no synergy. Disentegrate in general is a bad spell as it requires you to stand still for long periods of time, leaving you open to get wrecked by any off scree spell or hit.

Only sorceror i managed to make work is a lightning meteor set item one. You need around 900 mana for it to be viable and you need to maximize the mana cost of each meteor. Gonna provide you here a build guide. This build you see has 781, not ideal but still passable

why both frostclaw and elemental nova? And why teleport instead of flame rush?

Teleport refunds all mana cost for your next spell. Meaning your entire cost of meteor and all its procks cost 0. You use teleport then use black hole, then use meteor manually.

Frostclaw restores mana and generates ward. It is also your fodder killer. Elemental nova in this case is all lightning, and can be used in cases where you need to hit enemies around you. The frost claw as in the build is not aoe, it hits in sequence so that it maxes out mana regan and ward gen.

Teleport also your main tool to gain ward. With this build you gain 12 ward per 10 mana missing when teleport. You have 900, meaning you get 12 x 9 ward per teleport + all ward from exp suffix +%mana spent gained as ward. Since your dumping around 900 mana, you will get up to 700 ward per full mana dump, and also grants you haste (3-6s) and stun immunity for a few seconds on teleport.

Here is how you use it in practice.

Teleport; black hole, meteor, meteor, frost claw until mana no longer negative. Teleport. Meteor. Pump frost claw, use elemental nova if you need to.
