Hybrid Faction System to Save Economy and Reinvigorate Legacy Mode

Proposal: Hybrid Faction System to Save Economy and Reinvigorate Legacy Mode
Текст поста (Body):
The Problem:
Currently, the Merchant’s Guild (MG) economy, especially in Legacy, suffers from hyperinflation caused by gold exploits and RMT. This makes high-tier items (3-4 LP) unattainable for honest players, while “Circle of Fortune” (CoF) remains isolated.
The Solution: A Progressive Hybrid Model
Instead of keeping factions mutually exclusive, let’s make them a unified progression path with a “skill-gate.”
Start with Merchant’s Guild (MG): All players start here. They can buy/sell basic gear (0-1 LP), idols, and crafting materials to get their builds running.
The “Ascension” Trial: To unlock the second faction (CoF), a player must reach 400 Corruption and defeat a specific boss (e.g., Orobyss or a Timeline Boss) on that difficulty.
The Hybrid Rule (Anti-Inflation):
Once CoF is unlocked, the player gets all CoF loot bonuses.
CRITICAL: Every item dropped via CoF bonuses is automatically Account Bound (cannot be traded).
Gold remains relevant only for consumables, crafting bases, and entry-level uniques on the Bazaar.
Why this works:
Economic Protection: Since the most powerful items (3-4 LP) will be obtained via CoF bonuses and become Account Bound, RMT gold loses its power. You can’t “buy” a BiS character anymore; you have to earn it.
Anti-Botting: 400 Corruption is a significant barrier for low-effort bot farms.
Player Retention: It gives players a clear “end-game” goal: reach 400 Corruption to unlock the “super-loot” mode.
Legacy Recovery: This system allows the Legacy economy to heal," as the most valuable items will be removed from the market cycle.
I believe this would make Last Epoch’s faction system truly unique and resilient against exploits. What do you think, Travelers?

This isn’t a final proposal, just a rough draft of ideas. Of course, it all needs to be fleshed out and refined. I’m just tossing some initial thoughts your way. These ideas are largely inspired by the auction model used in WOW.

No thank you. I will never play MG and forcing me to would start my exit from the game.

You get one of two choices, better drops or the ability to play a trade sim. Lets keep it that way.

No, it does because the system is fundamentally not long-term functional.
Exploits and RMT just speed it up, but it happens anyway.

I’m against a mixing of those factions as they specifically were designed to not interact. I’m for a rework of the whole system though to actually make it a proper design rather then how it currently interacts with.
