Huge frame drops after 0.8.3

In defence of Vapour, who has been nothing ever than super helpful & polite to others, you only have to look at the posting history of the individual in question.
He has participated in one other thread, again providing zero information, and also not responding at all to Vapour’s prompting for more info. It’s a classic example of either someone who does not speak English at all using a translator, or a Troll.

Yet again, I fall back on my tried & tested classification system that I use: New member only 5 days old, only 6 threads visited, only 3 posts made (all mysterious & critical without details). Unless more specific details of a problem are listed then it falls under the large bodied subterranean category for me

Don’t get me wrong I wish nothing but the best for him but when something is ''known issue"" and I clarify that its optimization problem its no use providing any details and I was very kind to him. As a new player when u 5 days play on ultra and next patch u have 20 fps and s it is known why it is ultra frustrating. Again wish u all nothing but the best

Known Issue*

From your wording I see English is not your first language so I will try and explain this as clearly as I can. Vapour us only trying to help, but is frustrated at your wording and lack of details.

Your wording is wrong. A “Known Issue” with a game is an issue that has been well detailed, explained, and documented, including log files, and a clear written explanation of what has occurred. It is also an Issue that has been documented in a similar fashion by many other people, rather than just one. That makes it an issue that has happened to lots of people in different places with their own PC’s who all sent in their log files for LE to examine, so then a “known issue”.

An Issue that is felt by One person is “your issue”, and it is only from the information that YOU provide in the support forum or in a ticket that it can be theorised about as to its cause. Without details, no one has any idea what the actual problem is.

For example, you mention that you played on Ultra for 5 days, then after the patch you had 20fps. All we know from that is that you have fps drop. You have not provided any log files in the tech support forum that anyone can look at to try to help you.

Let me explain that in another way. You take your car into a mechanic. You say “I put Diesel in it, now it does not work properly,.” That does not help the mechanic have any idea what is really wrong, or how to help to fix it. If you had described to the mechanic what exactly was happening with your car that was different, he might be able to know the real problem and guess at the cause.

For your fps drop, no one can help you or even begin to “make a patch” until you provide more exact details. The best way you can do that is to send in your log files for someone to look at. We don’t know what PC specs you have, what OS you are using, whether it is the standalone or Steam client, or anything else. These are basics that people like Vapour, the other vets in here, or customer support will need to know. Your log files contain a whole bunch of data that can tell us what platform you are using. This is why often people send in a dxdiag log file as well as the game log files at C:\Users\yourname\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch
Those files are le_graphicsmanager.ini, Player.log, & Version.txt

I hope this helps

Dont be frustrated about fps drops insted try to give as much info as u can to help devs who are reading evry post and comment on this forum to solve it. And please dont make this in to not related subject.

Please people stick to the subject dont explain and argue with each other its unnecessary

I will check log file and when it happens again i will upload it here thank u for the direction on how to do it❤️

Yeah, I wasn’t attempting to argue mate I was just first trying to establish whether or not the person that upset Vapour was a Troll or had problems with English. It turned out to be the second, so then with that established I was trying to provide more helpful info on why Vapour was asking for more info, and then the mechanisms for providing that.

These days, as I cannot make anything other than walls of text, I try and establish the veracity of the poster first before subjecting my fingers to a full on keyboard assault

P.S. The oft-forgotten dxdiag log is also very useful for the devs, but often forgotten. It gives them useful platform data. I failed to point out that none of the files listed contain any specific data that could even be remotely considered personal data. It’s all entirely geek speak.

Oops, also I should point out that you should probably make a new thread in the Technical Support forum for this with the logs. This is in “General” so won’t get the attention it needs.

Rest assured, the devs do read all the Tech Support threads, and do also get involved in those threads when they see fit. I had one very long thread myself that Mike himself got involved in a few weeks ago.

English is not my first language, I apologize! But when there is bunch of others on reddit and forums and steam complaining about same issue then its not “my issue”. However I will provide log below  le_graphicsmanager.ini (472 Bytes)
Uploading: Player.log…
version.txt (6 Bytes)

Oh Sry didn’t see it on time.

Thank u for the log and i apologize if there was misunderstanding. For the tech issue tread yea i agree now it would be better if i created it there but im sure even if its here devs will read it.

Yeah, although I do not profess to actually know Vapour at all, I have chatted with him on here in many “back & forths”. He’s always been super patient (unlike me) with everyone and one of the most helpful people here.

As Llama said, he was probably just having a bad day and had been foruming with some trickiness. I very much doubt he took it personally, or was actually upset or annoyed.

It’s all too easy for us English speakers to get quickly & easily frustrated with people who post in forums who do not speak English as a first language. That is NOT your fault, it is OUR fault. Many people make the effort to post in English despite it being difficult, because English is the universal default for most forums. Those of us who have English as a first language take it for granted that everyone speaks or types it as well as us, it is a laziness on our part. I spend some time in another game on Russian forums, and I don’t speak a word of Russian. I use Google Translate and very often I suspect that the stuff I post comes across wrongly, or as complete nonsense.

I would highly recommend that both Vekon & Zram join in and make a common new post in the tech support forums, attaching your logs.

I am sure that you will find people are most helpful, despite the initial confusion in this thread. Often miscommunication is all too easy when we are using typed words rather than spoken or face to face. Although it shouldn’t be necessary and it’s not fair, if English is not your first language sometimes it might help to say that in a first post in a thread. I do this in forums from other languages, and I find that people are a lot more patient when they realise that you are having to translate everything

Ok here are my files im exactly on the area it happened last time and as well now is the same situation frames have settled on 6fps, if u walk through map they will be 4 and will be steady on it

version.txt (6 Bytes)
le_graphicsmanager.ini (481 Bytes)
Player.log (879.4 KB)

Edited if u go on the left side of the map frames will be 14 something, and on the right side are 4

I want to report a huge fps drop right after entering immortal summit(campaign) Previous areas are fine. From 40ish fps to 4-8 fps. Restarting LE restore the fps.

Does the log still helps? I have already passed through that area further into the story.

Hey there… you really should report these in the bug forum… The devs are very active there and its a good place to see if your issues are being experienced by other player… and yes, if you post a bug report, you should include your logs etc…

On this specific issue - I have a suspicion that this particular map is one of those that could be causing a problem… but there are other things like particular skills / configs that might be also involved… (e.g. a combination rather than one thing only).

Yesterday i have experienced in empowered timeline where lagon is i dont remember the name screen has frozen couple of times on certain maps which didnt happen on normal difficulry which is strange there were no mobs around and i wasnt using any skill
