How will chat moderation work moving forward for online?

As the title states, I’m curious how the chat moderation will be handled now that there’s a much larger focus on multiplayer and communication.

Chat in-game previously has always been something of a joke, since most of the time it devolves into talking about other aRPGs, asking about when features are being released, or just someone trolling and screwing with people and trying to rile them up.

Before it was fine since, as a solo game, you could just turn off chat and be good. Now with online being the new focus, I’m worried that chat will become even more chaotic and inhospitable, which could absolutely push people away, at least from trying online with groups.

What sort of new moderation is going to take place? Different region chats for different languages? I could expand on this later, but for now I’m more so worried about the people who are just baiting for drama in the chat since everyone is still figuring things out.

Any comments? Ideas? I know you’ve moderated it already, but it definitely needs to be further enforced since it’s now a key part of online.

Along with a popular multiplayer game, comes a non-zero percentage of trolls and griefers. What’s the max number of blocked players one can have? This is a huge problem for many other online games, often having a block list limited to 10 or 100 players is not enough for a popular game…
