How to save characters to do a fresh install?

need to format windows, is there a way to back up the characters and all the gear ?

Enable steam cloud and it’ll save your characters.

Or backup the files in the save subdirectory from here.

File name: Player.log and Player-prev.log
Location: C:\Users[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch\

Linux
File name: Player.log
Location: ~/.config/unity3d/Eleventh Hour Games/Last Epoch/

MacOS
File name: Player.log and Player-prev.log

By the way, i suggest to ALL the players , as the game is still BETA to backup the save files each day if you play often.

I thought the characters were only stored in the registry right now. Has this changed recently? (Runs to backup characters)

yes from patch 0.7.7 it is changed.

Like if EHG’s servers go down & no-one can access their support pages which are probably on the same hardware as the forum? :wink:

wanted to write something other there first, like if you are too lazy to click on that link :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Also i wanted to mention that EVERYBODY must make often backups of their saves files as the game have some instability in that area.
Almost each day come someone in game chat and asking how to restore his missing char or stash items.
With new patch i hope these problems will appear less often.
