For me it’s new chars.
Once I get bored with my main char, I start / continue with another. But if that involves “homework” like a campaign it eats into motivation. In PoE I’d play one char and if the season was fun two. Doing the campaign a third time? No way.
“Good news” you say “in LE you can skip the campaign!”
You can’t. You need to follow it until you get your mastery (=not skipping). And even after that the dungeon is WAY harder then other content + it’s lvl 20. By the time you can run the dungeon you can almost do echos … Which don’t punish you for dying because you don’t loose the key.
I like the idea of farming something with my main (here: keys) to boost my new char. But it should be like it is in Grim Dawn: You buy something and the new char gets the unlocks from the campaign.
So here is my suggestions:
- Add a new echo which scales with playerlevel and give us the option to spawn there. (i.e. some portal we can buy/find with our main or an option in the creation menu).
- Add some item which unlocks the missing passives / idol slot and can be earned / found by our main.
- Or at the very least: Give us the option to autoskip all the dialogs / movies etc. It’s just a clickfest
I like the classes, the crafting, the endgame. But after starting my second char I can already say: It wont be many more if the homework stays…
