How many others Hate spires?

Im not calling for a change, I’m just saying that for me Spires are less than fun. It’s not because I’m dying to them, I die to primordial dragons about as often. But I HATE that they won’t let me set my own pace. They keep me from checking inventory, reviving my companion’s, checking loot before I pick it up… It’s just not a pleasant way for me to play.

But I was wondering how many of you feel the same way?

ive died lots of times to the lightning ones at this point but im sure thats ‘User error’ more than anything lul

Sums it up nicely, they are more of an annoyance than a challenge.

They also bypass many defenses like Frailty, less damage from ignite/chilled/shocked, less damage from cursed, etc. Not too bad at low corruption but when you get higher its like why can these things oneshot (instakill incase of DoT).

I don’t really have an issue with spires. It can be annoying when fighting packs, especially if you have 2-3 in the map, but unless you have some stuff that auto-procs, like the maelstrom idol, you can simply stop fighting and they will stop shooting. Then you can check inventory or drops or whatever.
Better since they fixed the minion thing (with minions it never stopped shooting, even if you weren’t in combat) and the void spires not creating mobs.

So it’s mostly an irritant at times, rather than something I hate.

The only spires that actually do that are the void ones that spawn a mob (which you then need to kill), every other spire stops firing after you’ve not used a skill for 4 seconds. So kinda yes, but kinda no.

Void spires have been patched to not spawn mobs anymore.

Yeah, I thought that had happened but wasn’t sure.

Can confirm that spires do not shoot if you just stand idly

In my experience, Spires don’t shoot on auto-procs like those anymore. I’ve tried it with the Maelstrom idol and the Sigil ring.

Don’t even have to stand still idly, you just have to be out of combat and not directly using any skills. If there’s no monsters attacking you, you can walk the entire map without using skills and the spires won’t shoot.

I also don’t think they’re any fun. Whenever there’s a spire, I just rush the objective then do anything else I want to do in that map. And I believe EHG doesn’t want people to feel like they need to rush mono objectives, so this might be a problem and they might want to address that.

on high corruption, I feel I got to rush straight to this rather than finding nemesis or experimental mage and then having to backtrack. Dislike that design more than anything and it’s more of an annoyance. I do remember before the change that you load into the map, if you didn’t do anything like move the spires would hit you lol.

I hate the poison spyres as my builds usually are weak to poison. I also play casters so if this thing comes down on me while I am stuck in place I get hammered.

If last epoch removed the 1S GCD and let you move instantly it would be less of a problem. In offline it’s less of a problem. In online with 70Ms of latency- I ain’t seeing it until I am dead

Nice, they must have fixed it when they made the spire changes recently and I missed that.

You can still use some skills and it won’t trigger them. I think it’s buffs that do this. I know that I had some stuff on auto cast on a character and it didn’t trigger them. Raptor rampage also doesn’t.

Im on your side. I hate spires too. For me no fun. I try to re-enter echos for spires.
Hope they will be banished from the game
Yeah just my personal opinion. I’m more a relaxed player and dont like to get stressed

See a spire mono? Port out and reset it and try again. You don’t lose your rewards, but you can keep resetting to avoid them.

True, but it doesn’t make it any more fun… I’d vote for the complete removal of spires.
