HOW Last Epoch can Avoid POE2 Problems in 1 Sentence

Play your own product.

That’s it. I know the industry. 90% of the people developing games don’t play video games and more like 99.9% of executives in the video game industry don’t play any video games. Thus you get the fiasco happening right now at POE2. You were right to delay release. Now spend that time playing and see if it works.

Note I don’t mean “play testing” which means looking for little quirks or things slightly off. I mean be a customer and play the game just like they would.

They do. Mike has even been streaming weekly for years now answering community questions while playing LE.

The whole premise of LE was them making a game they want to play. So you can be sure that they play their game a lot.

I hope that isnt just one guy. Make the whole staff do it. If I had a game company that would be a condition of employment.

Most of the decision making team does it.
They even have a discord channel room now just so they can stream and people can tell them what to play.

Well ur in luck. Cuz EHG does play thier own game even judd the founder and ceo of EHG plays the game. Has been said already. Mike (senior dev) plays the game. Every friday he plays on thier dev Q&A stream. If i remember correctly mike has even said he plays even when not on stream.

This is one thing i like about EHG they actually play thier own game. As it should be.

That is good. The problem I had with LE first time around were that the art seemed unpolished and the gameplay confusing. I didn’t even know if I was done with the campaign. I also encountered a boss that was basically 2 shotting me after getting to what I thought was the endgame. Lets hope that is all fixed.

Visuals are good. Maybe POE2 is a 10 and LE is a 9…but they are very good.

You can get one-shotted, the difference in LE is that you see it coming and have a fair chance to move. Also, the campaign is quite easy so by the time you reach any real challenges you have all the tools you need.
