How does corruption really affects the loot rate?

Hello,

This is certainly the most asked and answered question in the community, yet I can’t seem to find anything concrete. Plus the answers I found were a year old, so I wondered how much they were still relevant.

How does the corruption affect the rarity of items you can drop, unique and exalted ?

How much the rarity bonus you see in the right side of the screen really affect your loot ?

Is there any hidden rarity multiplier corruption gives ? Something you can’t see in written numbers but is definetely there ?

Does the corruption affect the LP chance from the nemeses ? Does the rarity bonus affect it ?

Is there a point to farm anything else than 500 corruption, or is the gain so minuscule it is not worth anything ?

But the biggest, and probably dumbest question, is : is there a formula on how loot rates are affected by corruption, area level, dangerosity of the ennemy, and so on ? I’m sure if this formula, or even hints on how it work, exists, it must be one of the most precious secrets of the game so I don’t expect much.

Small edit : I used tunklab to try to get some answers since it gives LP potential, but I still had questions on cases like nemeses, and if it took in account the rarity bonus

500 is probably idel for farming loot. 1000 corruption provides around 1.5% better loot than 500. The difficulty change far outweighs the loot benefits.

How do you come to this conclusion ? No criticizing, I am just curious

Corruption’s benefits has hard diminishing returns, somewhere between 500 & 700/1,000 is (apparently) good if your build can kill fast enough & survive.

Not sure if the general quality buff is the same, but you can see the hard diminishing returns on the boss drops here:
