It feels like the chat is 90% asking for teleports to EoT, Observatory or Bazaar.
inb4 “Just turn off your chat”, NO, I will not turn off my chat.
This is apparently a bad game design, if people are allowed to go there via certain means, but the game itself does not let them do it yet.
Why not just allow people to teleport to whatever hub area they want to straight from the first town, or just restrict them from entering those zones if they haven’t reached that zone yet?
Agree in concept dont mind seeing it in chat but either let players go there sooner idk why its gated behind the end campaign esp when sets are pretty bad but finding a full set in campaign would be fun for COF anyways…or just make it locked so unless u do a quest u can’t open it.
That would then make it impossible to use dungeons for one of their intended functions, campaign skips. It would also make it impossible to get round any quest blocking bugs that brick your character by preventing progress in a quest.
I really don’t mind people asking for TPs.
And I often help them getting to where they want to, I just don’t go off my track for that… If I happen to be sitting in the Observatory or in the EoT when I see some one asking, I just send a party invite without asking.
I also ask for TP in chat myself, when I’m leveling a new char and really need to test something specific in the Arena dummies, but none of my friends are online atm.
What really annoys me is people asking to be rushed leeching XP… Even on day 1, first hour into the new cycle, those kinds of requests were already popping in chat.
That I never do… If it’s a friend or acquaintance, sure. But I really don’t want to be suddenly building up Resonances towards someone I don’t even know, only because they’re lazy to level their character themselves.
Or maybe even if it is someone willing to play together in party, but to actually level and have fun together - not just be rushed - I’d sure also be willing to add them as friends and play together eventually.
it’s kinda annoying but I don’t really care. Should just add the 2 npc is the first town and let you koin your chosen faction right from the get go and that would alleviate a lot of the issues.
Well, that’s not an issue, just a nuisance to have the chat polluted with that.
But on the other hand, if they did that and maybe even further, if they allow those same NPCs to provide a insta teleport to their related areas from the get go (i.e: Observatory or Bazaar), it would probably open up windows for a potential myriad of new bugs to happen.
I suppose the majority of people having bugs/problems to a point of not being able to progress in the story (like this recent bug with people stuck before Lagon) is due to them constantly jumping stages of the game which was supposed to trigger some specific event and allow the story to progress.
Just today I’ve had this happen to me: I created a new character and teleported right to the EoT to get my Mastery at level 1. Then I wasn’t able to go back to the first map and continue the story normally… For some reason, the first map was not showing in the world map and even if I logged out and back in, the game would place me already in The Council Chamber (which is where you’re supposed to be right after you unlock your mastery), unable to go back because I hadn’t had fought that boss abomination with tentacles in the Last Refugee Outskirts yet.
I was only able to progress normally by having my husband create a new character so I could teleport to him in the very first map.
I don’t mind later on in the cycle for alts, but I saw people 3 hours into launch begging for it, which drove me nuts. Anyone that somehow had gotten there insanely quick, isn’t gonna be sitting there taxing people
(like this recent bug with people stuck before Lagon)
I suffered through this bug and did not skip any part of the campaign. I think it’s caused by gettting one of the key items before you’re told to get them. The game doesn’t register that you’ve picked it up, but also doesn’t respawn them.
Fair enough, and while I’m not entirely sure I believe the ping the game gives us, 70ms is definitely very playable. The colours the game uses do seem to be a more reasonable reflection of lag. Most of the time.
To buy items for a new char I have to relogin with another one, buy and put them in stash, then relogin again.
I think favor and bazaar/observatory portal should be shared between characters once you enter the faction in the first town. Make the last town inaccessible from those location to not mess up the campaign progression.
If everyone’s getting their faction stuff at the beginning anyways, they should just make a port from the starter town in the next patch. Although I understand it kinda messes with the lore and the story a bit.
