Quite literally, before you had max 2 companions, now you have max 3 companions.
Does that mean I can summon more than one scorpion?
No it does not.
1 of: Bear, kitty, dino, scorpion
1+ of: wolf (depending on uniques, passive tree)
Up to max companion of: raven

As above; this is a no-go.
Beastmasters get +1 companion as part of their mastery bonus so if you have +1 from a passive as well you get to have a total of 4.
