It’s a Void Knight using Erasing Strike and Warpath (I’m kinda sad it became so overpowered this season).
I’m thinking of ways to improve its defenses. Right now, damage reduction from critical strikes is at 97% and resists are capped, with armor reducing damage by 70%.
Any suggestions on what should I prioritize? I have 5 unused passive points right now.
HP, Void Knight is the predestined mastery for HP stacking.
Not only do you not have full investment in HP, you have basically non-existent investment into HP. None of the good HP passives (Dark Maw and Eternal Form) and no %health or Hybrid Health affixes on any gear pieces that can have it.
Also once you have a bit of HP scaling with passives and %health you can try to get more Vitality, which gives you damage and even more health (and Necrotic + Poison Resistance).
With level 90 you can be at 3000-4000 health easily.
First off: Equip Idols? I dunno if something happened or you just don’t have any on you… but health idols and vitality idols are kinda nice.
Also good to fix resistances. Physical res should be high, elemental as well, and void. The others are not as important (still are bit not quite as extreme).
Secondly: Health. You got a lot of offensive measures taken but your health is really bad.
Third: -% DoT damage base amulet if you can get one. Also Eternal gloves to get some armor as defense added against DoT. Direct hits generally tend to be less an issue then DoTs in LE.
Next up: Movement speed on boots. I deem it the most important stat on there, above everything else. Movement speed > Health > everything else.
Also: Blessings? Which ones are you using? I don’t see any, they’re there to fix up your resistances and help overall with rounding out your build.
Another one: The node ‘Singular Purpose’ on the passive tree is a extremely strong one. it’s a combined offensive/defensive hybrid node. The ‘more’ mention is a multiplier there, not an increase, so extremely powerful. Especially when you combine it with time rot and slow both, 10% less damage taken hence from the biggest threats.
As for skills: I actually recommend dropping healing hands and instead going into ‘Anomaly’ the node ‘Immediacy’ combined with ‘Void Touch’, ‘Exacerbate’ and ‘Mark of Rot’ is a fantastic scaling mechanic which frees up needed damage otherwise, allowing to burst down high-health enemies and hence reducing the fight time, allowing to move more focus into defensive measures.
And last: I don’t recommend going into vitality as is recommended, I would instead go into Endurance heavily. Void Knight is the HP king, the severe amounts you acquite usually (if actually points would go into it) makes the value so high that endurance will multiply it ridiculously well, outperforming many many ward builds with much higher values because of combined defensive measures otherwise.
upping lightning resistance to 140%, poison resistance to 125% and other resistances to 120% (so high for counter mark of death and many stacks of poison, shreds resistances and shock; it need only for builds without ailment cleansing),
idols with property: increased armour,
type of body armour: champion regalia and other items with applying armour damage reduction to dot damage,
use property: endurance upped to 60%,
passive skill “Rallying block” in forge guard’s tree if you use build with high block chance.
While this definitely does not hurt, this is very low priority and should be at the very bottom of priorities. This would defintiely fall under heavy min-maxing, especially for anything other than poison and lightning resistance.
Also your figures are for maximum number of shred stacks AND mark for death, which is highly unlikely to happen at the same time. Any build that plays on the level where this would be relevant and you have the gear and ressources to overcap that much will very likely have reliably ways of cleaning ailments and thus never read that many shred and shock stacks and mark for death.
Even for hardcore it is so much overkill and requries so much investment that its barely worth it. Especailly when you are in echoes that would have the mob types and enemy modifiers you can just play it mroe save.
Just because some of your resistances get shredded doesn’t mean you instantly die. Even worst case scenario, you have exactly 75% Resistance and have all the shred and reductions on you would take 65% more damage, which will a) not be instantly lethal and b) not come at you out of nowhere because mobs needs to actively hit you multiple times beforehand.
So it absolutely is low priority, maybe medium priority for hardcore.
Having ailment cleanse in your build or not is also not really a concern, because virtually every build can get it. And even without it its still a very low priority.
If you personally think its high priority, that is fine, but I would let this stand as a genric tip for somebody asking for tips to improve his build, because this will mislead them drastically.
