Thank you for the feedback it is much appreciated and I already have a loot filter in place, hence how and why I am wearing a lot of Unique Items, I had a lot of them dropped early and more of them kept on dropping as I played on in the game and I have only crafted my two hand staff, I used up all of my forging potential on that, everything else I am wearing apart from my boots are all Unique Items that are far better than anything that I can currently craft at this moment in time, my boots are a Legendary item and no other boots so far, are better than those particular pair of boots. But I hope that piece of information is useful to you?
You say this, but you also say that your defenses are lacking 'cause you die(d) to Lagon. Uniques are nice & shiney but they aren’t necessarily better.
I have a kill recorded from version 1.0.4. Mostly just standing still and zapping until he dies 
I have 1 unique from the campaign (relic slot), 1 exalted amulet, but everything else are rares and I specifically bought some from vendors to prove it can be done that way.
Key points for Lagon are:
- high cold res
- high lightning res
- high physical res
The rest is covered by ~1000 HP, 50 HP regen, 9% Spell Leech while Channeling. Ward from Flame Ward and Reactive Ward passive in Mage tree also helps.
LLAMA8. I was able to increase my cold defences with some idols that I had and I did not have to change my gear at all and I was able to defeat Lagon.
Psojed, thanks, I have already killed Lagon. Now Iam stuck on trying to defeat another boss. Post about that coming up soon.
