I honestly like this idea! Or give us a check-box option to hide it.
Path of Exile managed to monetize this by adding an mtx that you can place on any slot that simply hides whatever is in that slot (you can even make auras invisible). I’d be happy to pay for the option to hide my helmet (bonus points if I can put it in my shield slot too).
