Herald of the Scurry

I’ve been trying to get my herald of the scurry to spawn more than two squirrels without fang/claw/safety in numbers like this build from AaronActionRPG:

The only answers I saw online were that I have something limiting it (I doubled that I don’t have Artor’s legacy or anything like that limiting me to one companion.

I also saw that some people say you need fang/claw/safety in numbers but the build I showed above didn’t need it unless I missing something, and should that it actually summons two squirrels for each wolf summoned however, I can summon 2 wolves and only 2 squirrels.

Here is a link to my build, so you can see my skills and passives (I current have fang on because when I take it off it doesn’t work any more) https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/AK1Z42LB

Companions are not a regular minions like skeletons. For every type of companion here is a limit of 1. 1 bear 1 scorpion 1 spriggan 1 wolf etc. And total limit of 2.
So you are limited to 1 wolf (or 2 squirrels) by default. And initial number of companions for Primalist is 2. Beastmaster with +companions passives - 4. One more from Artor legacy. And one more from Wolf skill node. 6 at max
Every item or skill node that allows you to summon max (up to companion limit) - raises number of corresponding type from 1 to “companion limit”. Claw/fang/node in wolf skill for wolves(squirrels), , Naal tooth sword for raptors. It is mandatory. (A bit different for spriggan).(edited)Storm crows number is maxed by default
1 to 6 for wolves, 2 to 10 for squirrels (helm slot is occupied) as you go from 1 “wolf” to 5 “wolves”, where “wolf” is 2 squirrels

At no point in the video you see his inventory. Notice his gear is explained on the 3rd party website

Peinshakoff explained how it works. You need the amulet.

I’m assuming this was a mistake on Aaron’s part when making the planner. It was even pointed out in the comments, but he probably hasn’t seen it yet.

There are only 2 ways to have full wolves, like you and others pointed out: either you wear fang/claw, or you take safety in numbers.
So try to see which you can fit in your build better. Using safety in numbers means sacrificing one of the nodes, and they’re all pretty good. Using the claw/fang means you lose the DoT defense on the amulet.

If you another Herald of the Scurry you can try to get the T7 level to wolf which will give you one more point for your Summon Wolf. At that point you can then gram the Safety in Numbers node without sacrificing anything else.
