Equipping +2 to warpath for example doesn’t give you extra 2 points but downgrades your skill to lvl 18 and leaves you with lvl 18+2 extra points from the item, removing the item then leaves you with lvl 18 skill and you need to level it again If is not a bug but intended (I doubt so) there is absolutely no point in having system like that, the only reason is to have +1 bonus point at low lvl, but when you have enough shards to craft +2 skill your skill is already max lvl, also what’s the point in having tier 7 +4 to skill when all your skills are lvl 20, maybe to equip it and downgrade your skill 4 levels after removing it
That’s not how the +skills works. Every single time I’ve equipped an item with +skills I have gained a skill point to allocate. When your skills level up to 20 naturally, you will then have 20+x skill points.
If you craft a +1 to a different specialised skill (that you don’t currently have any +skills on) then equip it you’ll see that it increases the skill level.
Thank you, discovered that couple of days later. I can swear at that time that it downgraded my skills. The current system is confusing at least and I suggest when you have lvl 18 skill and equip a let’s say +2 for that skill it should be lvl 18 +0(2) the characters after the 0 in blue. That will make it much more understandable and maybe will remove the chance of posting more stupid threads like mine.
If you have a +skill item equipped & you go to that skill in the skill specialisation window there will be a lvl 18 (16+2) on the top left. But if it’s lvl 18 with the +skill then your “natural” skill level will be lower & equipping the item doesn’t change the number of levels you’ve earned with xp. The only thing that can change that (the “natural” level) is respeccing the skill when it’s above the minimum skill level (which from memory is also stated on the top left side of the skill tree).
