Health drop when entering map

I jumped back in the game for the first time in half a year and I noticed when my character first loads in or faster travels their health immediately drops by a large percentage. I created a new mage and it’s the same thing, my health drops by around 15-20% when loading in. I don’t remember this happening before but I could be wrong. Has it always done that or was there a mechanic change (endurance?) that happened since I last played? Thanks in advance!

It’s a (relatively) recent bug. Should be fixed at 1.0.

It is only like that in online mode (like most bugs).
From what I understand, the system unequips then reequips all your gear when you change zone, making you lose the (usually quite big) portion of your health coming from the gear.

Then again, I am often completely wrong on technical stuff, so there could be an entirely different explanation.

Whether the system unequips and reequips or whether it loads your base stats before applying bonuses, the end result ends up the same: you start each level with your base HP/Mana and have to regen to full each time.

It becomes less of an issue when doing monos, because monos are treated as one sort of same big area, so going in and out of echoes, or switching monos, won’t do this.

Also, we expect it to be fixed at 1.0.

I just noticed that this isn’t an issue anymore with the latest patch.

Started happening to me today. Not really sure what I did. Around the Lance of Heorot section.

I really don’t know. The patch itself wasn’t a bug fix for this. The bug fix must have just “tagged along”. In my case it stopped happening but I haven’t played lately to see if it remains that way.
Worst case scenario, we have to wait for 1.0 (less than a month, yay) for things to be more stable.
