Harvest STILL sucks!

How have you guys reworked Acolyte and NOT buffed Harvest??? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!

Yeah if anything, Harvest has actually been nerfed imo. Flat damage no longer scaling with intelligence and instead Dexterity makes complete sense, and is probably for the best, but its still a nerf either way.

Ontop of that, the node “Symbol of Loss” is now 4 points from 5, which is tragic and a pointless nerf, because that node plays a heavy part in Harvest’s DPS. There were some minor node changes that are good, like the attack speed while dual wielding, and the global crit chance/multi node though.

My main gripe with Harvest, and more overall Lich, is the devs insistence on the Lich having multiple synergies and avenues with Poison spec. It makes no sense to me, and imo the poison stuff would be far better suited to Warlock, who to me is a class that revolves almost exclusively around DoT builds.
Soul feast should be a Lich skill, and AoD should be Warlock, but this point is kind of opinionated and isnt concrete fact.

Anyway, continuing with this posts topic, I definitely think Harvest is better than it was before (though this may only apply to my specific harvest build), yet I still think it just wasnt changed enough to match the buffs given to Lich and its new skill Flay.

The Harvest skill is fine for a secondary skill for Flay.

The problem is when we use Harvest as the main skill and Flay as the secondary. I’m not sure if this interaction was tested or wanted. A blast to clean monoliths, but fails miserably against bosses, we need more Juice here.

In theory, the Agonizing Siphon node had a 25% chance per point to gain a stack when we hit a boss, but the Wandering Spirits are useless and sucks, remove them. Instead, give us a real buff and big numbers against bosses here.

Yeah, it definitely should be the case that both Flay and Harvest are viable as primary skills. And clearly alot of love was given to Flay which is cool. But I personally just enjoy Harvest (though I might be biased since ive played/used Harvest since before 1.3) and I definitely get the feeling that Harvest wasnt given the same love as Flay, though this is probably unintentional from the devs.

Looks like the Agonizing Siphon boosts AoD somehow, but since AoD is bugged, I can’t measure how.

Suggestion:
Replace the wandering spirits with a Phantom Scythe, the same tech from shrines, and Chaos Bolts.

Agonizing Siphon
“When Harvest Kills an enemy or hits at least one boss or rare enemy, you have a chance to gain a Stack of Stolen Spirit up to 5.”

“At 5 stacks, your next Harvest hit against a boss or rare enemy consumes all stacks to release a Phantom Scythe.”

Phantom Scythe is an attack AoE, centralized in the Lich character, and the same as that from Shrines.

Seriously, the shrines, Chaos Bolts, and UberAberroth have a cooler Scythe Power than the entire Harvest skill tree.

i like the IDEA of harvest. i put a lot of effort using bone curse before using harvest etc.

then i see sentinels just spinning around so casually doing more dps and are tankier than me. why am i even playing.

i tried this season for a short while. i feel harvest is weaker to me, but i m more tanky. not enough to get me playing more.

EDIT: wanted to add. i dont feel acolyte was buffed so much that its competitive with what sentinel has. i dont feel that sentinel was nerfed too much either.

Flat dmg now scaling with dex and craping in the dex nodes into tree is godawefull. I guess they made it for consistency because Spellblade has some dex scaling as well I don’t know. To me it makes 0 sense. It’s like telling everyone who throws a projectile or a spell that they need to scale dex because hand eye coordination is important to hit where you aim. It’s a joke and I don’t know who thought this would be a good idea.

But not only harvest feels bad. At least harvest is kind of good early on while Rip Blood for leveling felt so bad compared to earlier versions of the game. At least harvest is good to build up bleed stacks like crazy so it has kind of a niche.

Sure Flay should’ve a spotlight and mechanicly Flay is fun but to me it looks like flay is kind underperforming anyway so harvest has to be worse then Flay because who would’ve used Flay if harvest was good/better? (Yeah I know there are well working flay builds but as far as I’m concerned the skill itself is lackluster)

Now let’s go back to last season and what they changed for sentinel. Looks like they went for the acolythe changes the same way they treated Forge Guard… half hearted and implementing lukewarm “improvements”.

Well running it down in the story was fun with Flay and the new act at least looked good even if there is nothing else to say about it except booooooring! The game lost me completely in the second monolith because I’m still tirered to run a dumped down endgmae variant to run the same after.

Non the less the dex changes watered down the potential of the class because you can’t scale both meaningfully. I f there was a lower scaling with int but int was the only stat combined with the need to get some vitality everything would be better from my point of view.
