Hard Freeze and Crash

What went wrong?
Was coming into the third area (EDITED: Wraith Dunes) of Majelka, Imperial Age, the one that you fight the Lightning Scorpion. Entered and started into the obejctives just past the waypoint. Game suddenly froze. I saw a brief flash of some Window-esque interface that had a strange LE icon in it and then it closed down and the game shut down.

Hey @CaiusMartius - I’ve seen you around the forums a bit.

By any chance did you verify Steam files integirty yet?

I have this vague recollection you might be a Linux user too… if youre playing on Windows, run DxDiag and upload the report and I can have a look. If youre on Linux, … I suspect you might know how to run your own hardware and system error diagnostics. Let me know

I shall do so immediately! :+1:t2:

As to Linux. I’m actually not a Linux user. I’m actually one of those often derided Mac users who boots into Bootcamp while it still works.

Ack, forgot the attachment.

FYI. It hasn’t occurred since and I was able to go right back in and move onward so, no idea what caused it.

Ah. The dread Mac user.

I use a Windows machine for gaming, but I’m a long time Mac user. It really is a shame about the Mac support :frowning:

Hopefully one day EHG update to a later version of Unity and they can consider bringing it back.

Given it only happened the once, it could have just been a pure fluke (LE has a couple of memory leaks it seems, so those can be quite unreliable to reproduce).

The only thing I noticed in your DxDiag was that the OS reported a LiveKernelEvent with regard to a USB device it couldn’t enumerate. Is it possible you had some device plugged in your normally wouldn’t? Or unplugged it at the time you were playing?

I don’t plug or unplug anything between boots. But I have a eGPU that recently Bootcamp/Windows actually started to finally recognize, which was nice, but I can’t run it because if I do, it won’t let me change the native resolution of my main screen and running games on that seems to bring the system to a crawl for some weird reason. Anyway, that’s another test for another day. I do think it was just some random crash but wanted to note it.

Should it happen again, I’ll make sure to get the DxDiag again to add here. Thanks for the help!
