Handheld Last Epoch! Playing on GPD Win 3

So some good news to offset the blackout issues I’m getting on my desktop: Last Epoch seems to run fine on my tiny new GPD Win3.

It has an intel i7-1165G7 processor which I guess uses Iris Xe graphics.

I was skeptical if it would run but thus far I haven’t had issues, of course on Very Low settings. The screen is so small though I’d be hard pressed to figure out what details I’m missing out on.

The other nice thing is it lets me test in Controller mode; the unit has a hard toggle from mouse to controller function and the game immediately recognizes it as a controller. Fantastic! Adjusting to the controller buttons takes some time, and some things like inventory are much more difficult on a small screen.

While I wouldn’t recommend playing “seriously” on the handheld (due to item and inventory management not combat), it’s definitely a nice option to have to be able to play your favorite game on the go in a truly portable mode.

Now should I run it on a spare Raspberry PI 4?

hmmm… Not sure if I feel like banging my head against the wall for stop motion animation…

I know there it’s nothing to do with the subject, but sometimes I play on steam link on my cell phone, and it’s very playable.
