I found two golden chests right next to the portal as indicated in the title, which can be reopened by travelling to another location and returning. This can be used to farm glyphs, runes, and unique items. Also, I found a thread on a forum that has described this exploit in the past. It says it will be fixed when multiplayer is implemented: Ruined era, lost refuge golden chests. I play offline and can’t tell if the exploit works for multiplayer, but it is available in offline mode.
