General review

Hi ! Played the game almost since launch now, I watched the dev interviews and stuff, apparently they like to know how we ‘‘feel’’ about the game. Well I’ve got some thoughts I’d like to share and ideas on how to make the game better if anyone cares to read.

Amazing game by the way, Feels fantastic tbh for the most part I’m already addicted but there’s some things i’d like to point out, which are better put in context.

My favorite class to play is the Primalist, which I only got up to lvl 35+ exclusively playing with my friend. I don’t mind it being relatively underpowered as I like the gameplay and I noticed that some items drastically changes the balance of the game, which is fine, and led me to create other characters to test potential strong builds based on unique or set items I gathered and gladly spend so much time hoarding and organising.

For example I randomly obtained two pairs of falconer gloves during the campaign which is simply amazing and turned my struggling rogue into an unstoppable killing machine from very low level up until end game. Feels amazing. I felt unstoppable. No task was too big for me anymore.

So, This weekend specifically I set myself the goal to get the final item of the Pebbles set, the Femur wand which is a lvl 30 wand for an Acolyte and honestly isn’t that powerful and didn’t think would be such a great deal. I had no problem stumbling upon multiple copies of the two other pieces, figured I’d probably find it before I hit lvl 30. Made the acolyte, even with 2/3 of the set and many uniques, i was still a long way from a naked falconer with his gloves, but still felt okay. Stopped playing it at lvl 30, thinking now would be the perfect time to equip the wand.

I set out on the task to get the wand on my falconer, figured out it had to be dropped from the stolen lance monolith so I rushed into it with my unkillable low level falconer, unlocked the monoliths one by one, did like 25 echo until i remembered hearing something about the circle of fortune which can help you target drop stuff. Went back to rushing the campaigh, unlocked circle of fortune, leveled it up, did more monoliths, dungeons and stuff until maybe 20 hours later i finally got my hands on the wand.

Which I couldn’t equip because obviously my lvl 30 acolyte wasnt in the circle of fortune. By the time I could unlock circle of fortune, the wand was useless to me. I felt disgusted.

Ended up with a lvl 80 falconer so quickly like I was playing with cheat codes even though I liked playing Primalist better all along. Thought it’d be worth mentioning when I see polls ranking Primalist as the least played class.

I’d like to point out also that it would be cool to have different images for the spells on your spellbar when you change the element of the spell. Specifically when I play Runemaster and I try to do certain specific combo I get very confused.
The Hide UI solves this for me, but I find it disappointing that this feature also hides the items we drop so I can’t play with it constantly.

Anyway, Great game guys and I heard you guys aren’t too concerned with cosmetics right now but from my point of view the salary of the guy responsible for adding cosmetics into the game would pay for itself really quickly, and I’d welcome the opportunity to throw more money your way.

TL;DR: Set items underpowered. Solution: lift restriction on sharing circle of fortune item with your own characters, or add ways a lvl 30 character can drop a lvl 30 item ?
