So I have finally found a really nice helm for my heartseeker build. A Peak of the Mountain with 2LP. Now for the record, in all my tries with like 3 other level 95+ builds I have never found gear this nice, so I really don’t want to mess it up!
So far here are my options, trying to figure out best choices to use in Temporal Dungeon on them:
Current Peak has +11 Dex. Potential options I have found:
+8 Dex, +26% Endurance (currently have 21% Endurance)
+3 Puncture, +2 Shurikens
+8 Dex, +73% Phys Res. (currently 61% Phys Res)
If it was me playing the character, and was forced to pick one, the only option I’d consider changing for your current helmet is this, and only if those points are needed to reach a certain node that would be more valuable than +11 dex. But since you’re using Mourning Frost, losing dex is generally bad in most cases.
Maybe the first option, if you’re feeling really squishy, but that would be a downgrade in terms of DPS.
But definitely not the third one… I personally try and avoid slamming resistance affixes onto legendaries… It always a mess when trying to balance resistances on future gear upgrades, especially when the resistance affix is an exalted one.
So, in the end, with these options available, I would probably just wait for a better exalted item.
The benefits you’ll get from those will be barely noticeble, comparing to the current one you’re wearing.
Yeah. Personally, I’d go with endurance. Puncture is a nice support, but it’s not the main DPS. That is still heartseeker. So getting a few more skill points in puncture is not likely to make too much difference offensively, whereas endurance might help survive.
So, based on that, [quote=“NightLightning, post:1, topic:78057”]
+8 Dex, +26% Endurance

seems to be the winner here. Or should I wait for something better? Once I get past about 120 corruption, the squishyness is real!
Given that there is a 1/3 chance of failing the 2nd affix, I would wait for a better one that has at least as much dex. Otherwise you risk having a “downgrade” rather than an upgrade.
Maybe one where you have more useful affixes that can slam and will be an improvement. You can even get one with T7 dex and then puncture, endurance and health, so that no matter which gets transferred you’ll always have an improvement.
And in the meantime you can keep on farming more peaks. If you find another 2LP, you can then use rune of creation on the better exalted and have 2 chances of hitting it.
And you can also keep on improving other gear to help with the squishiness. It’s unlikely that peak alone will fix that.
Focus on Nemesis, since they usually drop better exalted gear and remember that you can use Havocs to switch the exalted affix. Just be sure that all the non-exalted affixes are in the same tier when you use it.
What is your experience with droprates of Rune of Havoc? I got round about 120h in Tombs of the Erased and got about 30ish Havoc Runes. That’s by far too few to use it regularly for crafting, because you use 3 to 4 runes on average until you roll the right affix.
Don’t have much experience with them yet, haven’t had much free time to play this season, unfortunately.
But your estimate seems about right. I’d guess they will tend to fall more often in higher corruption, but it’s one of the rarest runes, on par with ascendance.
You could run generic rune prophecies (since there’s no specific one for havoc/redemption yet, for some reason, but that’s already discussed in another thread) to increase it, but yeah, you shouldn’t waste them on just any item.
In theory, you want to craft on the exalted to get the 4 affixes you want, even if your main affix isn’t the T7. Then you can use Havocs. Basically, spend your less valuable resources first. If it fails, you didn’t lose much. If it doesn’t, then you can try the valuable ones.
As long as all non-exalted tiers are the same, it makes no difference for Havoc if they’re all T1 or T5.
Yeah that’s pretty much what I do to get a hold of them. They also tend to use huge amounts of forge potential, even with Hope Glyphs in place. So in reality most of the time you get 1 or 2 shots with your Havoc Rune before you run out of potential. That makes it a bit fiddly sometimes, like slamming 2p+ legendaries.
