Generally the theory crafting part of Last Epoch is excellent. Build diveristy and overall ways to enjoy every single skill in various ways is the best iv experienced in any ARPG. Hats off truley!
Gameplay is where im taking an issue more and more and think it should be addressed quickly in order to improove over the years to come.
Gameplay
It took me D1 D2 D3, Wolcen and Last Epoch over the last 25 years to appriciate and realize how vital map layouts actually are for the gameplay & gameflow.
Last Epoch
Gameplay is sadly very distracted, i pay significantly more attention to the mini map and where to spam my mobility skill rather than the actual gameplay on screen, and thats a problem. Map layouts combined with monolith objectives holds much power over the quality of gameplay and flow. (which is get from here to there, repeat) this minimap wieved gameplay is also much present during the campaign.
Diablo 2
Predictable map layout within a shape, explore it all ? follow the road or follow the edges you until you find the exit/enterence. RNG within reliable layout.
Wolcen.
Playthrough: Follow the dead carcass stench, which means the player is guided and can pay much of their attention to the gameplay, and every great visual detail. This is not pressent endgame, and falls apart completely.
Diablo 3.
Grifts where 100% reliable in terms of where you are going, which means as a player i am paying nearly full attention to the gameplay on screen.
The simplistic D3 Grifts with no loot and one way to follow allowed us players to pay nearly full attention to the gameplay which is something i took widly forgranted. I had no idea i could say anything positive about D3 before playing Wolcen and Last Epoch.
I know many comments will be short tempered and sarcastic, im just gonna ignore those.
End goal here is too enjoy Last Epoch as much as possibe, cheers.
