Game needs some optimization in certain area templates

I have come across this on numerous occasions where certain area templates will cause MASSIVE lag/fps drops, and it seems to trigger more often with more enemies coming onto the screen at one time. Arena is notorious for this. Here’s another area where I went from a steady 60 fps down to 15-16 with no enemies on the screen, and 10 or less fps when there are many enemies coming into the screen.

This is simply frustrating. I have done all I can on my end to ensure all my settings are optimized, all clutter is removed from my OS, and that all my drivers are up to date using DriverEasy program 1-2x scan/week. Like I said, I usually run in a steady state of 60 fps with no drops, but this situation I know has not only happened to me, but far too many from what I gather reading these forums, so please, please, please make game optimisation your top 2 priorities and alleviate these things that would otherwise push people away from supporting further development if this doesn’t get addressed asap! Thank You! Overall, I am loving the flow of this game, and this one thing is my pet peave right now, sorry.

There have been specific maps that have caused performance issues in the past and the devs have made efforts to resolve this - to the point of even removing some maps in previous patches.

When posting a report of this kind, it is important that you provide specific locations with screenshots down to where you are standing as well as providing your player.log (the games debug file) from that specific playsession as well as the le_graphicsmanager.ini (so that the devs can see the setting used) and a snapshot of your hardware (dxdiag report etc)…

The problem with performance bugs is that they are notoriously hard to replicate on demand and without being able to replicate the issue the devs have a very hard time finding what needs to be fixed… E.g. I have tested a lot of maps/locations that different people posted here with videos of unexplained fps loss but have been totally unable to recreate the same issue even putting my character in the exact same place on a map and doing what they did. Sometimes issues are very specific to certain configurations (e.g. a problem might happen on a single quality setting but not on one higher or even lower) , sometimes very specific GPU driver versions have caused problems when newer or older ones dont… sometimes its down to a specific combination of settings or resolutions that affect one map more than another - like particle effects in the background, or distant views off a clifface…even things like a map having more grass than another so the grass quality setting can have a much bigger impact on one map than another. Sometimes performance issues have turned out to be related to third party apps or simply people expecting more of LE than it can deliver right now on specific hardware…

Generally LE is in beta and has performance issues… thats normal… and the devs do deal with performance improvements with each patch… The problem is that the game isnt nearly finished enough to really focus attention on optimisation… what would the point of optimising a particular skill/map/effect if it were just going to be revamped/removed? that would just be a waste of limited time/resources that could be working on finishing the game…

Just saying that making performance a priority right now - as much as we would like it - isnt really viable beyond fixing immediate and critical performance issues.
