Game Crashes when entering Soul Wardens Road

This seems to be a duplication of an old bug - topic now closed (Game crashes at 'The soul wardens' road'). This bug did not happen to me on three prior characters entering this transition point, but it is happening repeatedly on this new one.

I attempted the fix in the old posts from 2020-21, but unplugging all speakers and headphones and muting computer sound does nothing. This is kind of a deal breaker with this game if I cannot progress. Please help.

Note: I cannot find a Player.log file anywhere on my computer.

Update. I went to Steam and did a “View Integrity of Files” on Last Epoch and it found an issue on one file and updated that file (no idea what file it was). I ran the area again with sound muted (not that this mattered), and the transition worked.
