Gambling completely unbalanced for new players

So the tldr here is, if you spend lots of gold on coke and hookers stash tabs you’ll never have enough, but if you barely spend anything then you’ll soon be overflowing with gold!

It’s almost like coke and hookers stash tabs are supposed to ge a gold sink or something…

condescension aside (subjective) gold is fine, because the pacing of gold drops is what the devs intend currently. You can change the pace of your playstyle with the loot filter. it’s a balance you aren’t supposed to 100% gold, and 100% target farm or whatever all at the same time. You can do this obviously but it will be intense, and with the sentiment that gold is scarce in this thread, unfulfilling. Honestly i have never target farmed gold and i’ve always had enough, mostly because if i don’t i just play the game til i do. there’s no bar that needs to be reached here (unless maybe playing professionally) and even then most streamers do solo self found and make godly chars, while being fine with their gold reserves.

I just don’t agree with hundreds or even thousands of “extra?” hours. solo self found is common across the industry and people playing hundreds of hours would be skilled enough to know how to gear a char.
Also lets say you get 100 extra hours out of a character, is that not a good thing? you are playing your build more.
using this example 10 chars would be 1000 more playtime hours which sounds fine to me.
But lets say all 1000 hours are on one character, that’s on the person for playing a char for 1000 extra hours even if they aren’t being entertained.

I don’t disagree with your sentiment or your way of playing, but even these numbers don’t sound that bad to me. in the end we are all here for the ride.

now thats an honest imput. To tell the truth, I can live with the current gold pace, and I agree sometimes we need to balance the things we are doing and how we are playing the game.

And the way a player is playing the game is what will most time dictate if the gold is being enough or not. Some players can play all the game with a “stick” and be happy with it. He wont need gold for anything. Others will try to maximize the chance of getting BIS itens and current upgrades & future upgrades all the time and they will run out of gold very often.

I just could not agree being told that gold in this game is very easy to the point of getting “billions” and not having enough things to spend it. You can easily run out of gold playing more seriously, atempting a more effective playstyle and trying to save as many potentially good itens as possible in this game. Not only stashes, running lightless arbor to farm glyph of despair also consumes millions of gold. Its one valid way of playing the game.

Gambler is a placeholder right now, the devs want to change it they just haven’t gotten around to it. It shouldn’t be the best way to get uniques with infinite budget, but it still should be useful early on. They’re going to change it eventually, so don’t get too hung up on the way it is now.

I like this idea a lot but I doubt it will ever happen, I am not a dev believe it or not, but I am guessing that it would ramp up server costs considerably.

No, I wouldn’t suggest having it be unlimited, that was just for the sake of argument. You couldn’t even do that unless it was a text file on your own computer or maybe was limited by your Steam account or something. I guess you could just make an absurd tab limit that nobody would ever use in normal play, like 3000. But even that is unnecessary.

My actual suggestion for fixing storage would just be to have a separate bank per character that progresses the same way the one now does, with a small number of shared tabs that all characters can access. Even if that solution ends up being 25x bigger than the existing one, this is not a massive amount of data we’re talking about.

My bad I did not quote your reply, I was actually agreeing with what you just explained, thats my bad. I would love for each character to have their own stash with access to a smaller shared stash like you said. You know better than me though, if you say it wouldnt impactfully affect server costs, then thats great. Its a much more elegant solution over sifting through hundreds of tabs containing random ass gear for all classes when all you want is that damn ammy you found 2 days ago.
