Future Updates for Shrines?

Just like the title says - I am wondering if there are plans to include more shrines/optimize the currently available ones? I’ve seen some pretty old threads on this but nothing too recent.

For instance, I think the gold drop shrine is still pretty underwhelming and should have the amount of gold dropped increased significantly. Any plans to implement shrines that drop exalted items?

The gold drop shrine is at least missing 1 zero per stack of gold. Maybe even two zeros to be exiting.
Char level * 500 and it is kind of cool to find one.

Yea I’m running monoliths and getting less than 1K gold from a relatively uncommon shrine…pretty worthless IMO. Would def like to either see the amount of gold increased significantly or just do away with it completely.

Gold shrine with it’s current values - just disappointing.

Reflection shrine - I don’t know what’s with developers of most aRPGs- look just activate it and tell me honestly who would be happy about it? It takes MANY hits to kill anything and to even do it -you have to stand still and actually get hit on purpose. Just nope.

Exp shrine - honestly cannot even tell if it’s working. Idea is great (D3 Pools of Reflection). But that one anybody can visibly see working and it feels good.

Movement/attack/cast speed - this is great obviously.

Reduced cds/infinite resources - again great.

Affix shrine - guarantee class specific shards or at least more rares shards, otherwise I would not bother even clicking it.

Obviously Shrines people like to see are the ones that help you clear faster/deal more dmg.

Or make you completely dmg immune for a short time.

Conduit Pylon , Power Pylon from D3 is how you make shrines exciting and useful and what people want to get from shrines.

Most hilarious shrine in all aRPGs - goblin shrine in D3. That is how you make some funny shit and memories.

Oh what about this shrine that spawns big ass scorpions and drops some items?
I havent seen it in ages. Is that even still in the game?

Have it on Monoliths only and guarantee Exalted (though 99% it will be useless anyway i guess) and that’s a good shrine. Actually have it in Story too and just make it drop Unique.

If shrines could be rare or even exalted with a “tier level” to offer better rewards. Think a t7 affix shrine dropping class specific affixes or a t7 idol shrine dropping idols with 90% or better rolls. Obviously these kinds of shrines would have to be rare and in deep monos or arena.

The nemesis bracer was a fun idea in D3 although everyone had to carry a pair around in their inventory to pop shrines with. Still made popping a shrine, even a shrine you didn’t care about, more worthwhile.

Its still in the game but pretty rare

I agree with your post - for me the best part about Shrines from D3 was Nemesis bracers spawning a rare/minions - shrines need at least the PoE makeover where theres a big pack of monsters surrounding the shrine so even if its a fairly pointless shrine at least you get some mobs to kill

There are also legendary gloves that make shrine buffs last 10 minutes which is pretty nice since almost all D3 shrines are useful. I believe there is amulet that increases durations of Pylons as well.

Also current seasonal Diablo theme Season 22 spawns super buffed copy of your character after activating any shrine/pylon and it justs murders everything. Obviously this is only fine for limited time.

My point is - you can make shrines more attractive/elaborate by adding items that interact with them or even entire systems like S22 theme.

Though it would be nice if shrines were just good and ALWAYS worth clicking.

Yes, would like to see more shrines that make clearing easier and additional shrines that are rare but offer increased rewards. As it stands, I do not get too excited about seeing shrines while running a mono (unless it is a mov inc shrine).

This sounds weird but I think a “gambler shrine” in higher level monoliths with a high cost and limited spins but guranteed exalted items could be fun. This would be fairly exciting and a pretty new spin on the idea of shrines.

IMO the ice beetles are not dps mobs, they’re cc mobs. That said, it’s clear they don’t take “hours” to kill trash.

Also IMO, the gold shrines should be scaled to provide 2-5 gambles at the area level they are found in.
