I don’t know all the details that are planned for endgame content so forgive me if I’m suggesting things that are already being worked on.
In my last post on the system I suggested allowing players to adjust their corruption as they saw fit after beating their first Shade of Orobyss. This is an expansion of it.

I suggest that the corruption system be expanded to be something similar to the heat system from the game Hades. I’ve noticed other games adopting this system as well such as Rogue Legacy 2 with their New Game+ Threads. I wouldn’t be surprised if Path of Exile (1 or 2) creates a similar system.
Because if a system works and works really well why not use it yourself.
Sure the enemy buffs in each Monolith level are randomized right now but what if you could choose your difficulty and obstacles beyond just the current corruption system of more health and damage to even time rushed levels as just one idea.
More difficulty added = more corruption = more loot.
Maybe they keep the random enemy buffs or not. I won’t go into any further detail on this as that’s really up to the devs and I’m just throwing this idea out there in case it’s not already being worked on.
I see. So instead of just a randomised echo modifier, you get to choose and stack your own modifiers and calibrate the rewards. But isnt this basically map mods in POE? Technically POE already has this when you roll affixes on maps?
I think the core idea is interesting. But I am not so sure about adding corruptions/modifiers freely/costlessly. I think it diminishes decision making and closes interaction possiblities with other parts of the endgame system.
That’s true. Then again I’m the kind of guy that would like to freely modify Blessings after unlocking them. Sure, go through it several times to unlock each Blessing but allow the player to freely switch out Blessings once unlocked.
For blessings, I totally agree. I see those similar to Pantheon in POE and once LE has cycles, the current Blessing grinds is going to feel very very bad if you need to keep grinding them on a 3-4month basis.
But corruption levels and modifiers stacking I see them quite differently though.
