Full PoE Convert QoL Asks

Theres only three things that really urk me coming from PoE2 so I thought I’d ask for these quality of life changes.

  • Sound on FILTERED item drop
Many would probably appreciate this, if not all. When an item drops that has been filtered, it would be really nice to hear a pronounced sound of some sort. Why? If an item drops off screen, you often won’t know until you’ve walked the whole echo back to collect loot drops.

  • Map shows filtered drops when filter is on
For the same reason as above. Some people don’t play with sound on, or play with music on, etc. It would be really nice to see the filtered items that drop on the map. Currently the map shows “notable” drops which when using a filter often carry no value. But, there are some items that do carry value so you have to walk it back just to check again.

  • Visual buffs and debuffs on you and\or your minions as an option under the overhead health bar
Currently It’s pretty difficult to discern if you or your minions gain or lose a (de))buff without taking your eyes off the action. It would be nice to visually see them when they happen. I get that there are some that show up on the bottom left and bottom right, but they’re plenty out of view and taking your eyes away can lead to death. This is something that has always urked me in games like Lost Ark. Luckily things in this game happen a bit slower so it can sometimes be more managable.

Now, some other things I’d like to discuss.

  • The addition of target dummies is absolutely amazing. Such a great QoL addition. But, it can be improved. Perhaps somehow showing DPS numbers over the dummy would be basic enough. In addition to this, being able to spawn and despawn minions without logging out would be pretty nice as well, and probably cost less resources. Something like the old WoW right-click on the “buff” icon would be fine since currently there seems to be no interaction with the icons at all anyway.

  • I absolutely love the loot filter implementation. You get what you get and there are no mysteries behind it. No need to go to external websites to figure things out. Etc. One request here would be to display item filter number in the alt (mod explanations) menu rather than having to actually open up the filter to see it. On my screen at least, the loot filter dialogue box takes up half the screen. I can’t imagine how bad this feels on handhelds, but I fully intend to find out!

Thanks for listening!

Both of these have been requested often. They’re working on it.

Yes, this would be nice. It’s very hard to keep up with buffs and debuffs. Though the sheer amount you can get in plenty of builds would make it hard to keep track there as well.
But some sort of solution to make it clearer would be great, especially for minions where it’s often not possible at all to figure out without hovering them.

This is also an old discussion. On the whole, devs in this genre are against showing DPS metrics because it usually reduces the discussion of builds into a single metric. If a build does 10000 DPS and another does 10010, then the first one now “objectively” sucks, whereas as they are now, both are good.
There’s arguments for both sides, but mostly that is why almost no game in the genre provides a DPS meter, outside of player made mods.

Personally, I think the tooltip DPS should be fixed first, since it’s more important. It’s wildly innacurate currently.

That would be a nice idea, honestly. I’d even go further and say it should have the rule name as well in it. If you have to press a key to get that info, then there is no performance issue and it would allow us to check items in the inventory that we picked but no longer remember what the purpose was (slamming, crafting, storing, etc).
