Frustrations with Group Play Experience in Monolith Progression

Hi devs,

First off, I want to say thank you for your continued work on Last Epoch. The game is a fantastic experience overall, and the depth of the endgame content is impressive. However, I wanted to raise a few frustrations with the current state of Monolith of Fate progression when playing in a party.

These issues mostly revolve around how progression, rewards, and credit are handled during co-op play and how, unfortunately, group play often feels like it penalizes players instead of supporting cooperation.

1. Echo Start Interrupts Party Members

When a new echo is started by the party leader, it forcefully pulls all party members out of whatever screen they’re on (inventory, stash, vendor, crafting, etc.). This can be jarring and frustrating. A countdown timer or a ready-check system would allow players to prepare and enter the echo together more smoothly.

2. Quest Echo Credit Not Shared

After earning enough stability to access timeline quest echoes, only the host gets credit when the party completes the objective. This means each party member must rehost and replay the same quest echoes individually to progress their own timeline, even though they just completed it as a group. It feels inefficient and undermines the point of group progression.

3. Boss Echo Credit and Stability Loss

Similarly, after completing a boss echo as a party, only the host gets credit for the kill—even though all party members spend their own stability to participate. As a result, non-host players must farm stability again and re-run the same boss echo just to progress. This creates unnecessary repetition and makes cooperative progression feel unrewarding.

4. Corruption Pushing Doesn’t Apply to All Party Members

When pushing high corruption as a group, only the party leader receives the corruption increase on their timeline—even though all party members contribute to earning it. This discourages team play in one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of the game. Corruption gains should ideally be shared with all party members present in the run.

Summary

Group play is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Last Epoch, but the way Monolith progression is currently structured creates friction for cooperative players. These systems unintentionally reward solo play and force groups to redo content repeatedly just to earn individual credit. Shared quest, boss, and corruption rewards would make endgame group play much more enjoyable and efficient.

Thanks again for all your efforts, and I hope this feedback helps guide improvements to the multiplayer experience!
