If an ally passes through a mage’s frostwall with “Prepared Wards” allocated, what is the intended effect? I assumed the following: The mage pays flame wards mana cost (with 250% multiplier) and the ally gets the flame ward buff according to the mage’s skill tree of flame ward.
In reality, this interaction seems to be incredibly bugged. While the ally gets some ward, the amount is way lower than casting flame ward directly, and instead the mage gets the flame ward buff, even though he never passed the wall. Is that intended, and if not, is there a fix coming with 1.0?
I’m wondering why there is no discussion about this, as it severly impacts the mage’s supportive capabilities in coop/multiplayer.
From my understanding the result that Flame ward is also applied to the mage works as intended. If you would cast Flame ward without frostwall, then Flame ward would be automatically casted on you. The description of the skill is that “you now cast flame ward on you or your allies that pass…” consequently I don’t see why flame ward should not be applied also to you if your mate passes throught the wall.
I have not noticed the mana cost, I will take a look.
Both considerations seem to not affect any supportive capabilities that you are referring to, I agree that they could be (potentially) bugs or unintended behaviours but why you think that your capabilities are impacted if these considerations are, substantially, more favourable for you?
