Good job, devs. Your game is so interesting and so good optimized. I will anyway recommend it to my familiars.
Maybe it would be better to close servers? Or you will continue to kick this dead?
The game is not dead, it is just a bit of a hiatus rn. With some major issues that plagued the game together with other similar games having big releases it is expected.
People will return to it when new patches come and then we need to see how many stick, but overall if the game improves I donât see a reason why it should go upwards with the concurrent players.
Here is a statement from the Game Director and CEO in a similar thread.
Come on he just wantâs to show of that 258k is more then 1k give him his 5 seconds of showing his skills with numbers.
While Iâve always trusted that EHG will deliver, I hope after 1.2 they would be able to get the game seasons out in much more regular cadence.
I have alot of admiration for EHGâs tenacity to grind quietly in the background to deliver a AAA experience, but I imagine getting more regular player feedback and seeing their community constantly buzzing would be a great motivation boost to the team.
Negative.
Unoriginal.
False.
Bait.
Some words that come to mind reading these âdead game lulâ posts.
Most people donât make these posts to actually give feedback (as can be seen by the fact that there is no feedback and that the image is titled LOL). They do it so they can feel superior to other people.
Itâs just another version of e-Peen wagging. And like e-Peen bragging, facts and nuances arenât important.
Yep, itâs the poorest form of trolling because they arenât even trying. At least put some effort inâŚ
Just dont tell anyone that POE1 currently has about 6.5k players. So the absolute benchmark of the genre which has been on the market for 10+ years and accordingly more time to acquire a dedicated player base has just 6 times more players than the newbee game.
unfortunately I dont think we will see 250k again, much less 150k again.
âLaunchâ in the current space of gaming is a meme that draws lots of normal noncommital players.
The game will obviously return to its imo core user base of 40k-100k peak ccu with the next patch, I dont forsee it getting too much bigger then that for a long time. PoE1 is currently getting the same type of drama, âpoe1 should die, poe2 has 3x the ccuâ but I personally believe you cant take any launch ccu numbers as valuable to the health of a game because everyone wants to hop on to the brand new thing being talked about in media space. Games like palworld will never see 2m ccu again, that was a flash in the pan. the game is good and successful, but the narrative for anyone mad it will always be âomg imagine losing 1.8m players lolâ
like ccu IS a good indication of the health of a game generally if we understand the context around it.
Grimdawn for example isnt freshly released and has pretty damn good ccu for its age and its overall peak.
what we want to see is stability or growth year to year vs overall time. if 1.1 had 70k ccu, and 1.2 has 75k peak ccu, then its probably growing the core audience which is good. But comparing the launch numbers to say patch 2.0 is just silly as hell.
âŚIâm not so sure. I think it depends on where the other action RPGs will be at the time (if Diablo 4 or PoE 2 will have just had a big release, for example).
Concurrent players at a time between updates is not a good way to measure a gameâs health, but IMO itâs something interesting to evaluate when a new season begins.
With how long it has been since the last big patch, Iâm not sure if Last Epoch will get as many concurrent players as it got in the 1.1 release.
